My brother lives right around the corner from the school and his kids go there i'll check out a game or 2. Not much talent their tho...

Hmmmm...Left Northeast for some random academy in Coral Springs? Maybe the poster that came on and said he got pushed out because of Stacey Coley going to UM might have been on to something. Sounds like a step down, no?

Public school to a private school? Kinda like FIU to UM, I call it a step UP. And, how's about he gets judged about the team's performance AFTER he's been there a while.

All due respect, Chuckles, you must not be from South Florida. Dan Morgan couldnt even get Taravella to a respectable point. Schools in Coral Springs, unless they start bussing the Pompano kids back over there, just dont have the talent. (And they stopped doing that a few years ago I heard) And its been that way for decades. Donnell can recruit kids there but it would have to be a group of optimist kids who decide to take a risk and go there to start something new. (Like the Cypress Bay kids) Other then that, he will be doomed.

And to the other poster, Rich Alexis was from Coral Springs but went to Pope John Paul in Boca Raton.

With equal respect, I confess that during my first half-century in Dade County I failed to inform myself about schools in Coral Springs (it may not have existed when I was in high school). You sound better informed about that area.

Traditionally private schools in Dade and Broward (going back to Archbishop Curley)were not major players in football competition like MHS, Edison, and later others. More recently the private academies have become competitive with the public schools and some are contenders in major sports.

Things change, the once all powerful MHS is now an also ran. Coach Bennett may or may not succeed at his new challenge, but it is not impossible. Others have been successful in unexpected places and it's not like he's coaching at King Salmon, Alaska.

As a fan I'm not ready to write him off yet, and wish Coach Bennett luck and success in his efforts.

That school is clearly emphasizing athletics. Their basketball team went to states and their baseball team is solid with a few big prospects.

The football team has always been awful, but a big name coach is a good place to start to build.

I`m pretty sure that there was a highly touted offense lineman that went to Coral Springs high. I think he was a starter at Notre. Dame.

You thinking about Steve Huthinson. He went to Michigan and was a star in the NFL for the Seahawks and Vikings I think.

Their basketball program is loaded with talent

Maybe they are about to start recruiting in football as well
