God I wish we could get him on the staff coaching runningbacks and special teams!

Richardson is good, But soldinger is a natural. Face it, when Soldinger was here, our Special teams was in check from all angles period. Im for it.,, BRING soldinger back dam it..

That ship has sailed. Isn't Soldinger 87 years old? You can't occupy a recruiting position like RB corch with an old codger who is cranky and might not do wonders for staff chemistry. He did some good things for UM in the past, but it's over now.

Our special teams last year was as good as it has been since 2004.

Yup, and that's with some questionable depth

We can have a debate about who will suit us better etc.. But Soldinger knows how to evaluate talent my kitties. I posted this several years ago that i saw Soldinger hanging out a bagel shop in Kendall Dr. and basically, i asked him a few questions etc.. To summarize the conversation, this is what he had to say about the current players at the time and more:

Edgerrin James - was the best RB he had ever coached. Not even close.
Streeter- had lots of potential, but was soft and ran lazy routes.
Nate Webster- was the nastiest son of a ***** he has ever coached. Apparently, the football players used to wrestle in the Rathskeller and he used to manhandle fools.
Lamar Miller- Kid had the speed, but was not impressed one bit with his toughness . DId not like his style of running etc. Mind you that when he said this, Lamar Miller was entering his Soph year (Spring ball - after Lamar took off X2 for the long runs in Broward;s facility). I though homeboy was crazy to say some stuff about lamar, especially after Lamar showcased his skills etc,, Bottom line, Soldinger is a tough SOn of a ***** and he is familiar with the Dade county district for recruiting initiatives period. Ask Tyrone Moss about it,. ha

Sol's special teams corching prowess is mythology anyway. He was struggling so badly with STs that they had to move Stoops over there to help him out (i.e., fix it).
