Today on the Joe Rose Show former UM Assistant Coach Don Soldinger gave his thoughts on the UM Head Coach opening. Based off his interview I think it is safe to say Don is in the "Bring Back Butch" crowd.

He's talking like he wants to come back and coach.

Joe Rose has to stop w/ the Wario propaganda. Where is this **** coming from?

endorsed. Had to stop listening because he was making too much sense. He's just an old guy that happens to know what he's talking about.

Yep. It's always good to hear what Soldinger has to say...

And his endorsement means something, in my opinion...

Interesting that he said that Cristobal wasn't from Jimmy's "tree" since he played under Erickson....

All I needed to hear was, "You need to look for someone who has done it before."

Whether you want Butch or not, no other coach will come to Miami desperate for redemption like him. He knows what his legacy could've been and he believes he can still achieve it. It would be a **** of a story line and one that he could easily sell to recruits.

One of the best coaches we've ever had here. This guy was so undervalued and under-appreciated. I think if Butch comes back he'll probably include him in some type of "administration" role. Think old Sol still has a few years left of value. Maybe not as a 24/7 coach on the road but in some capacity.
 
This incessant Mario love is infuriating, he is a bad OL coach, how the f@ck does that qualify him as a candidate.
 
NO MARIO! Why doesn't this administration get the message? Why don't they ever listen to the alums and fans and hire Butch?! I don't care if some of these BOT trustfund clowns are butt hurt about the way he left before? They messed up his contract, but they are still a bunch of revengeful little b####es!

Yeah, he kinda glossed right over Mario and changed the subject to other candidates real quickly. Lol. This is a guy who has been around the elite of the elite of coaches. I think his opinion should carry more weight than some scrub HS corch looking for a job.
