Does the SEC deserve to have 6 of the top 12 teams?

6 of 12.... sure.. but they are 6 of 10 right now, and in no way should 2 loss tex am, lsu, or south carolina , be above 1 loss clemson or 1 loss fsu.

Well, the rest of the country's teams are between average to garbage so why not? I'd say there is not much difference between the 6th rated team in the nation to the 36th rated team in the nation.

Pac 12- One great team and then Stanford, USC, and Oregon St
Big 10- One good team (Ohio State) and the rest are garbage
ACC- Two decent teams
Big East- Two average teams and the rest garbage
Big 12- One great team and then Oklahoma and Texas

While I do think Florida, Georgia and South Carolina are average...there's no big reason they shouldn't be in the top 12.

The entire conference feasts on home games (or "neutral" sites in the south where 90% of the fans are SEC) against OOC cupcakes. And, unlike the Big 10, Pac-12 and Big 12, ACC, the SEC mostly schedules 4 OOC cupcakes at home rather than 3 with a lot of home & homes. So, the collective SEC cupcake-eating means we have no idea whether any of these teams are any good.
UGA is the best example -- Only 4 road games, all in conference. Their 4 OOC opponents? Buffalo, FL Atlantic, GA South and Georgia Tech, all at home. They are 1-1 against top 25 teams (both SEC). There are probably 25 to 30 CFB teams or more who would have the same record against this schedule.
FL -- same thing. Bowling Green, ULL (which they barely survived) and Jacksonville State all at home. Then they play the rivalry game against FSU .
AL -- Michigan, W Kentucky, Florida Atl, W. Carolina -- 1 "neutral" and 3 home.
The SEC has been at the forefront of manipulating the BCS system from the beginning. The first to have the 12 team, split conference format. Scheduling the whole conference against cupcakes at home. And now, going to 14 teams to (on average) dilute the quality of conference teams (of course it backfired short term with A&M).

This reminds me of Yagan's diatribes on that other board back when the Big12 was still relevant.

Just as accurate in this case.

AnM has bigger wins than clemson and fsu have. they just went to alabama and beat em down (up 20-0 at half). thats more than what clemson and fsu have done in the last 10 years (**** the whole ACC really hasnt done anything either)

to be fair the ACC has been terrible top to bottom. the entire conference is basically a cupcake. and i find it funny ppl complain about the SEC but theyve won the last six BCS titles going back to 06. if the acc has done that then wed get the benefit of the doubt.

imma be honest....i think We can beat UF.....

Uf is considered a beast in the sec...

the conference imo is top heavy..and very overrated....tired of them getting the benefit of the doubt just for beating another sec team....i lol'd how they (espn, media) were hyping Arkansas just to have another team in the sec race...when i knew that team wasnt all that good.....

no watch them ride the tex a&m..johhny manziel wave....its just too predictable...

before the season eve begins might as well just pencil a SEC team in the mnc.

Well, at least this bull**** will be put to rest come CFB playoffs. SEC championship streak might have some trouble surviving that.

Most SEC schools are also buying talent that belongs to others.

The SEC is so strong that Randy Shannon's whipping boy aka Texas A&M joins the conference and all of the sudden is having their best season in 20 years.

Lot of hate for the SEC. But who is the conference or teams u want to argue against them? Oregon I'll take but ND, KState, FSU, Clemson would prbly be 2+ loss teams playing in the SEC. Alabama is a perfect example of how hard it is to emotionally get up for every game in that conference. South Carolina ran out of gas after playing UGA, @LSU, @Florida.

I'm sorry, but this notion that you have to "get up for every game" in the SEC is total crap. Now, I'm not saying that the SEC isn't the best conference, but, there are garbage teams in that league just like there are every other league. Alabama had to play 3 ranked teams in a row, big freaking deal. K-State had to play 3 ranked opponents in a row. Oregon will play 3 in a row to end the season(including the Pac 12 championship game). Yeah, that was a tough 3 game stretch for Alabama, but, they should have been well rested since they had been doing nothing but kicking the **** out of teams like Arkansas, FAU, Western Kentucky, Missouri, and Tennessee for the first 2 months of the season.

NO. Walt Disney (i.e. ESPiN) has created a dream world fantasy where the $EC is dominant from top to bottom.

are they a great conference? Yes
is half the conf a top 10 team? **** No

Those 6 teams are going nowhere but up for at least 1 week! Check out who they play this week, it is a joke!

Pretty much another bye week before their last week of the season!

Would give anything if somehow GT beats UGa, FSU beats Uf, and Clemson beats USCe the next week! Not going to happen but would be great!

When 2 $EC teams play one will lose and not drop as far in the polls as what the other teams do when they lose. So it only raises their strength of schedule.

Doesn't matter who loses its always seen as a loss to an awesome team..which is bs
