Before the season and even during the season before we got smacked by FSU, VT and Duke, cane posters on here and everywhere else said "Stars did not matter". Now Auburn is better because they have a couple of 5 star D-lineman and FSU because they have 5 stars.

According to my calculations:

stars=talent

talent=wins

therefore,

stars=wins

So yes, it does matter imo

I would say they matter, but like most everything, they are not guarantees.... In fact, most are probably wrong more than right.

With the advent of the internet and subsequent internet based recruiting industry, I think the star ratings have gotten so much more accurate that it can be used as a good gage recruiting.

If they matter then why did we lose to Duke by 18? Why did we just squeak by Wake? For all of the Golden lovers, is it possible that we got out coached? We may not have top talent, but we sure as **** have more talent then the likes of Duke. I'm sure we have more stars then VT also. How come we bash our rivals "corches", but we just make excuses for ours. Bottom line is Al has left a lot to be desired in the results department. He is a good recruiter and good talking to the media. That is the only thing he has proven so far. Everyone talks about what a great CEO he is. Well lets see what he does with the worst defensive coordinator that we have had in the history of the program. This offseason will be a great indicator of what kind of CEO he is. Stop buying the bologna he is selling. Trust your eyes.

Stars can't coach themselves.

I still think you need good coaching

ask yourself would you take Muschamp or Malzahn

All Malzahn did was take a roster full of talent and add a decent QB the rest is history
All Muschamp did was take a roster full of talent put a crappy system in and the program is tanking pretty fast

Yes/No. We somehow can't miss on offensive players no matter how many stars they have, but on defense..... meh.

Auburn and FSU inherited good coaches, you know someone who can somewhat successfully scheme around whatever talent they have.

Uf did make a bcs game last year tho

The NO Saints look like a different team with their "COACH" in place

check out UF's schedule last year and see what it looked like then come holla at me...

They went to the BCS and did not have an answer for Louisville...and had all kind of stars on defense..
