Whether it's the players, coaching or schemes it's not working on the DL and the linebacking is not much better save Perryman.

Luther Robinson should be in there in the nickel defense. He's got the quickest first step of the DTs so he should be able to get some push here and there. And I'd go with more of a 3-4 look with Chick as a 3-4 DE and role up the SLB. At least would make the defense figure out who the 4th guy coming will be.

and i liked the back up OLBs better than the starters. They need to be playing more. But overall I couldn't figure out what the DC was trying to do at times. Had guys bailing at the snap from LB into deep center field? how about having certain things that they are good at first before trying to have LBs playing center field. and i don't like trying to put LBs in front of slot WRs either. they can't cover the guy and are too far to really help against the run. put a CB in there and at least he can cover the WR.

Front 7 is brutal. Many mental errors and blown coverage by the backers. Zero pressure on the QB by the line. Very troublesome.

i had a friend criticizing Cornelius for a big play to the RB and i couldn't argue for or against it. Cornelius was covering the TE and no one else would have been close if Cornelius was on the RB. either way we were going to have 1 guy running wide open. I really couldn't figure out were the mistakes where coming from. LBs or DBs at times. just looked like they needed 1 more guy on the field to actually make the play call work. the whole thing looked like a big mess. guys lining up on defense at the last second...which makes me look at the DC.

He has to simplify and I suspect he will. He has the athletes to do more on defense but he doesn't have the brains back there--we have too much inexperience. Opposing OC's must be dying to get to our defense because our players are lost. Our best hope is to be a simple team on early downs and then just have enough blitzes to create some variety in the predictable down and distance (3rd and long). This is total bend but don't break but it's expected when we're playing this many new guys.

The Third Down Package of Chickillo, Green, Terry and Cain was definitely a complete failure, hope they never use this again.

I thought the LBs played very well. You rarely see an entire group that excels in coverage. If a QB has time to throw, you ****ed.

And there's a reason we signed 7 DL in the last recruiting class, with another 4 inbound this year, hopefully.
