90 Ufomba Kamalu DE/DT 6-6 285 Jr. should have a great year
91 Olsen Pierre DT 6-4 305 Jr. Should be a money year, I think he can have a year like Farley a few years ago.
58 Anthony Naser DE 6-4 255 Jr. ?
95 David Perry DE 6-7 277 Jr. hmm
? Transfer needed

JR in 2014 this class needs to step up big especially the DT's
99 Jelani Hamilton DE/DT 6-5 285 So. Should also have a great year
17 Tyriq McCord LB/DE 6-3 235 So. Should be or best pass rusher next year
67 Corey King DT 6-1 292 So. We need him to step up big next year at DT
72 Earl Moore DT 6-1 302 So. We need him as well to step up big next year at DT
97 Dwayne Hoilett DE 6-3 245 RFr. Should be a good player but I think he should gain a whole lot more weight and become a strong side DE
? JUCO needed

SO in 2014
98 Al-Quadin Muhammad DE/LB 6-3 236 Fr. one of our best pass rushers next year
82 Naim Mustafaa DE 6-3 230 Fr. ?

2014 Recruits
DT
Travonte Valentine May get playing time due to depth issues but would rather him RS
Courtel Jenkins May RS but may play as well
Julio Derosier JUCO DT/DE may play both and be like Kamalu is for us and give us immediate impact.
Dalvon Stuckey I almost forgot about him but he will get play time here, I believe he will be 3 years removed from high school by the time he gets here.
? still need a transfer AG will work this out

DE
Trent Harris Can RS
Chad Thomas Will play his 1st day
Demetrius Jackson Will RS

The upperclassman DT's played a **** of a game especially Renfro, Pierre, Robinson, & Porter. Pierre will be the only to return. We can use 2 more veteran guys next year.

Stuckey at DT?

96 Curtis Porter DL 6-1 316 Sr.
78 Justin Renfrow DL 6-6 320 Sr.
93 Luther Robinson DL 6-3 303 Sr.

Those are the big losses

People will look back years from now and talk about how Golden used the graduate rule to his advantage the way Butch used to use other loopholes to his. Ever since he has gotten here he has found players and their various reasons for leaving their prior situations to help fill holes. I think the USC TE was the first (but didnt work out because of concussion issues). Golden will scour the waiver wires as he has said to fill any holes. And as more time pass more players will hear on the back channels from other disgruntled players (think Renfrow) how they were able to spend a semester in Nirvana, UM will become the go to place for players looking for a role and seeing if the position they play matches up to what we are trying to fill.

A position like DL will alway be ripe for something like this because the more mature bodies can be an immediate help but couple that with us missing at the position in recruiting Golden's first couple years and I am sure he will have his next list of targets first wednesday afternoon in Feb.

Al is goin back to the waiver wire to get one or two more DTs. Losing Porter, Robinson, and Renfrow will hurt the Dline too much. Unless Stuckey is a manchild and even then I dont want to go into next year hoping and praying that Moore or King finally make the leap. Especially in a year like next year where we could legitimately contend for the MNC. And if Valentine is as good as those first 2 game HS numbers indicate he aint RSin..(Go to the Recruiting board and check out the thread on commit stats...SICK STATS for a DT!)

A 4 deep of Pierre, Stuckey, Kamalu/Hamilton/King, Moore/Valentine/Derosier is okay. Get us two more grown men to throw some competition in there and now we are talkin!

I am under the impression Luther and Shayon would both have strong cases for a medical redshirt. I would welcome back both with open arms unless we get a huge scholly limit, but probably either way they'd be useful to have.

Luther wants to get paid I think. People talk about Porter too gettin another year but that would be stupid to me..Strike while the iron is hot. If he keeps this up he will be top 3 rounds easily.

Pierre, Chick, AQM, Kamalu, Moore, Jelani, King, Mustafa, Hoilett is a good place to start.

Throw in Derosier, Stuckey, and Thomas and we're in business.

Still hoping we can flip Cory Johnson. We keep winning and Kentucky keeps losing, and we should have a good chance. Also hopefully we can close on Pelon, who would be a perfect fit at de for us. Would fill in for Green nicely. Last but not least, a beast NT. Going to be tough filling Porters shoes, but we need another juco guy there.
