Djobet with the best +/- per minute played tonight and the second best against FDU (again, per minute played).

He’s such a high energy guy who makes the team better when he’s on the court.

Djobet, Jalil, AJ (Cleveland is gonna take his spot at the 3 in the starting line up), Divine, and Austin are depth like we’ve never seen here before. When we get Kiree back we’ll have legitimate depth at every spot.

@Trinton Breeze commented AJ had an off night… I don’t think so. He’s gonna give us great defense and let the offense come to him. That’s exactly the kind of player you want when you have scorers like Pack, Blackmon, Cleveland, Jalil, and Kidd.

Blackmon is an elite scorer and shot creator but there’s no way he and Pack can be on the court together in long stretches against ACC comp. Just too much of a defensive liability, both size and athleticism.

Despite the stat line, Kidd did ok. Needs to pass out of double teams better. Their defensive game plan was to not get beat inside so they crashed down whenever the ball was fed inside.

I’m not sure how we’ll match up with the elite teams (our front court is good not great), but this team has a chance to make it a really fun season.

Am I crazy for wanting Cleveland off the bench? Idk, I kind of like him coming in for a different look, especially with the younger guards 🤷🏻‍♂️

My hope is that bench vs. starter designation comes to hold very little meaning with this team.

That’s not Coach L’s habit, so maybe wishful thinking, but I’d love to see rotations be dictated solely by matchups and who’s playing well on a given night.

IMHO Cleveland needs to be on the floor 25+ min/game (because he is an elite level player at the 3)… but I get your point.

This is an interesting point. We’ve played 2 garbage teams so far, but I love what I’m seeing from djobet and the freshmen guards. It appears we can legitimately go 10 deep, and possibly 11 if Hueie can get healthy. We’ve never had depth like that.
