Different breed of kids

I know a lot of fans want to run off most of our coaches because the U isn't landing the elite recruits they want the staff to, but I don't think it's all on the staff.

I think the days are gone of finding talented kids who want to work their asses off and not worry about all the cosmetic sh@t kids worry about these days. Most kids now are soft-shouldered and get trophies for everything. Being sheltered from failure has really affected the culture of our youth. Not to mention he U hasn't done sh@t worth talking about in over a decade doesn't help either.

I think the staff is doing the best they can, but until they put together a great season that says you can compete for titles here, most of these kids won't come. They only know the Miami who has lost too many games to FSU and melt down afterwards. Change that and kids' minds will too.

Its a mentality thing but you guys have to realize certain things also. If we dont win more they wont come.

We are now the team that sells war stories about the past... we dont have a great battle victory in recent years. Richt has to coach and win games (in reality he shouldn't win). Thats just what it comes down to. Miami does not sell itself anymore and neither does south beach or the city.

WVU isn't winning any titles. And they just pulled Harley out of south Fla straight under our noses. Winning more will help, but it's hardly a cure all. There appears to be a hole in the staff when it comes to having that guy who can pull kids in. Dugans and Hartley were suppossed to fit the bill, but their schtick clearly ain't working.

Yeah, there is a different breed of kids, but that's still no excuse...

The bottom line is, this staff has big problem recruiting (especially at WR)...

Crootin' is being able to sell sand to a beach & right now this staff is having trouble selling water to a dying fish...

We can't always just place blame on the kids, they're hearing the pitch & they're flat out not buying it, why exactly can be debated on for hours, but the fact remains they simply don't believe what's being sold.

What needs to change is we have to be real & play the game more aggressively... We're not going to hit on every target, but missing this bad at WR is an absolute failure no matter how you slice it.

We either need to quit ****** around & start dropping some serious cash, or get some Coaches on staff who actually know how to land big time recruits.

Slow playing Harley was all on the staff. I agree u cant get them all but one elite kid a class should happen. Donkey driving a donk failed. Now the real question did richt hinder Dugan by now allowing him to offfer earlier?

I swear some of you cats can't have a conversation without disrespecting someone. It is possible to disagree without calling for someone's post to be deleted. We lost a kid to WV, there's a lot of things we can't see behind closed doors.

UF is a dumpster fire and they took 3 of our top DB targets from our backyard: Henderson, Wilson, Davis. Sounds like they are trending with Herbert as well.

I mean do wrong recruits not watch games, we threw the ball with good success. Sometimes a kid's mind is just made up.
