Did Joe Rose said D'Onofrio would not be let go?

Rose went on to say that even if UM told Golden to make a change, he would refuse, and say that we need a new head coach too. Is that true he said that and if so, what do you guys think?

The administration is not going to tell Al what to do with his staff. Al was hired to make those decisions on his own.

If the administration feels that they need to step in and fire one of Al's direct reports...then it is not the coordinator but Al who needs to be fired.

He will do what is best for this program.
 
Joe Rose should really learn to shut his ******* mouth once in a while. I get that he is always going to be a media homer for UM, which I think is a good thing, but it seems that he takes his job too far and puts out **** like this where he is out of his league.


If Al Golden wants the fan base to think something then coach Golden can say it for himself. Joe Rose should not be doing the coaching staff's bidding for them. That's not his job.

Not so sure on that one. The BOT does care. The fact that the lost revenue from the ACCCG alone would have paid the entire coaching staff's salary plus some and it was lost probably isn't sitting well right now in happy land.

Wouldnt it make perfect sense that he would be an expert on a team that has no idea how to use the tight end? Maybe Joe Rose could teach our younger tight ends how to run a negative 2 yard route in the flat. lol

If AL Golden quits we don't have to pay him if we fire him we still have to pay him.

So if you think Al Golden is just up and quit with no monetary security you F'ing retarded. Also how would that look when he goes for other jobs. He quite a contract defending his friend who fielded D's in the 100 range two years in a row.

He is the HC not GM or AD if people above him want to fire someone he gonna take it and like it. Heck JJ wanted to fire coaches in 84 and the people above him would not let him.

Joe Rose doesn't spit rumors on his radio show often. And when he does, he says "now this is just a rumor"

This is something he heard from somebody cose to the situation
 
JJ fired the Def. Coordinator Bill Trout in 1984 after that infamous 3 game collapse: Maryland, Boston College, and UCLA, in the Fiesta Bowl.
I doubt he needed the BOT's permission to do that after that sorry stretch.

Bill Trout resigned
JJ didn't fire him
JJ never wanted him so I sure he made his life miserable and Trout knew he wouldn't be on the staff in 85 so he just up and quit

we hope he is smart enough to do so..or he may choose to be loyal to his buddy and as a result allow the ship to sink
