Did Alabama take a bunch of L’s?

Bama ain't hurting and UGA will come back down to earth, guaranteed.

Don't they have like 30+ graduating seniors? That team will go through some growing pains next year.

EDIT: Roquan Smith declared as a junior.

Think they wanted Copeland and he chose UFag. I think it was a total of 4-5 they expected that went elsewhere. That puts them in a new position of looking at others close strong. With Jimbo at AM and Smart at UGA, Satan’s gonna have to fight/spend more than ever.

This is actually good for us. The war of attrition that is sure to follow between UGA and bammer will make each of them utilize a lot of resources and give us an opening.

Siphoning players from Saban to Kirby is better for CFB because I don’t think Kirby will turn UGA into Alabama, in my opinion, he’ll turn UGA into a slightly upgraded version of the Rick teams, barely, not much more. 9-11 wins a year max and no playoffs Last year was a fluke. That’s how I see it.

In the meantime, he’ll be making Bama weaker.

Saban is fuming. Saban will fight back. Dirty tricks will be employed. There will be more scrutiny.

This could be good for us in a Sun Tzu kind of way.

Plus there will be an annual beat down of Florida which should help us secure more Florida talent.

Nothing will change with Bama until Saban retires.

Saban is NOT, never HAS, nor WILL he act as bagman.

Some of you have no frikkin' idea on the system that University of Alabama boosters have set up, operating year-round, and that system has worked for Alabama for decades and decades. Same with Auburn - in fact - just about the entire SEC.

There are players who maybe can't be bought - but there's a buttload of yearly targets that BOOSTERS - not SABAN - work. Work the kids, work the coaches, and especially find out the family needs and address those big-time.

Ever wonder why most Alabama seniors play their senior year rather than cut out like so many UM players? It's because there's good money - like the money over their previous three years - that's still coming in - and making life comfortable for them AND their families.

To leave early? You're costing yourself - AND you family a lot of money - and if you go to the NFL - now your family's money will have to come out of YOUR pocket.

So you stay. It's financially worth it.

Saban is above all that crap. Boosters through the coaching staff discover what players the school has targeted - and then the boosters target them - and their families.

It's a system. It's proven. Nothing obvious like boats and ho's. It's safe - absolutely zero connection to the school. NOR SABAN.

Bama came to our backyard and took 2 out of the top 3 DBs

Took 1 of the top 2. Rankings may indicate otherwise but film wise there is not any separatists between jobe, frierson ,and hall

You say this like you have analyzed anything other than their highlight films Brock. Is that not the case?

Ill be honest Jobe is definitely the best of the 3 right now, but if you compare his Junior year games(when he was the same age as Hall and Frierson) he did not look as good as them. If Frierson and Hall where to play another year in HS they would look better then Jobe did this year.

We all know players get paid in college but what you are suggesting is ludicrous. The rookie minimum is 400k+. You are suggesting that is how much Bama pays players yearly?

Bama got charity playoff spot this year and yes they are being chipped away at in recruiting. They will still be the team to beat but the distance is closing. Good news for us because the pack will be more spread out and our chances to slip in and snatch one improves. Clearly we are not in the process of building a Butch type team but this class is good enough to beat any of the other classes above it. We have a Blades again and that has always been a good thing. The ones we loss will be beat by those who came.

Somebody that actually gets it.

And it’s not so much about the details. What’s important is that the boosters and their system of cheating is kept totally separate and apart from Saban and the coaches and the school. It’s a completely separate and different operating entity. Those guys know who to target. Same as if we here were to set that system up, we would know who the targets were for Miami.

It’s been operating that way for a long time.

The only way it ever comes to light is if somebody really screws up or somehow a parallel criminal investigation unravels some of the principals involved. Even though breaking NCAA rules in and of itself usually has no civil or criminal liability, there are crimes being committed.

Non reporting of income can actually land your *** in jail. I can tell you the IRS doesn’t play when it comes to this if they find out. (Not from personal experience, although I have been audited...root canals are more fun). You can make a case for conspiracy, RICO violations, etc...if they ever get caught. They’re pretty careful though and it hasn’t happened yet

True except the school is not clean. Any booster giving a piece of candy to a recruit our his family is a violation, period. My signature use to be on lots of checks to The U. I could never even send a cup of coffee to a table with a player or recruit at it without risk. Bama is guilty as crap. Don’t confuse currption at NCAA with there being no connection to the school. The school not “knowing” is basis for lack of institutional control. It is the payoffs to the NCAA that protects them not some secret society.

Will be interesting to see if IRS ever catches on. I remember when our AD Sam Jankovich raised the issue of unreported income when one of our most desired targets went elsewhere at the last minute. There was a strong feeling his father got money. Sam was furious and frustrated that we had no way to fight back. The only law broken might have been non-reporting of income. So hard to prove if you're from another school. I believe it was the 1985 recruiting class. I know who the prospect was and we really wanted him badly.

I don’t remember this but don’t doubt it.

Maybe one of the people that’s been around for a while has some details?
