Derick Hunter Decommits

I meant d tackle. He was gonna come into an ideal situation so it wasn’t about competition like Leonard alluded to.

I've just been hearing we moved on from him, not the other way around... if that's truly the case then goodbye, and best of luck

Either it's grades or he's scared that we're gonna bring in a ton of elite talent now that we're back

It can’t be grades this far out. You don’t need to make a public decommitment and UM isn’t dropping him for grades when he has 1 1/2 years to get them in order. We’ve stuck by kids in horrible shape with less than a year left who ended up getting in. And as a dt, he had an ideal situation with our depth at dt.
As others are saying, we dropped him.

Maybe dad got the report card yesterday and told kid to decommit publicly as punishment (wishful thinking I know).

This the dude that always be crying about not getting enough attention. Staff probably got tired of his ***. They probably won't try to bring him back in.

Just talked to him a few minutes ago and he told me “Like I told coach earlier I'm going to be a cane and I'm not letting nothing stop it that's why I gotta do what I gotta do”

Wish him all the best of luck in the future whether or not Miami decides to pursue him again.

Makes absolutely no sense. This kid has been flaky from the start. Not surprised

sounds good.

hopefully he does what he needs to do to get back. no need for anyone to down talk him.

None of us are privy to communication between him and the staff, so who knows. Maybe the still want him. We have no clue.
Just doesn’t seem like a public announcement of a decommitment was necessary over grades. Could have just said nothing, stayed committed and stopped with the social media and got his grades in order. Shut down his recruitment and the bs and did no more interviews.

Move on to somebody else and if he trys to come running back don’t let him. CMR needs to let these kids know if you decide to decommit from us we’re not taking you back.

Lol 5.34 for a Jr dt isn’t horrible. With proper coaching could probably get that down. And as mentioned, who cares? What do you think norton runs? Or other dts? That’s what legit 40 times are. Unless your Mcintosh returning a fumble, when will he be running 40 yards anywhere? Sure, it’s an important measuring stick that every one uses.

He needs to start listening to his dad and stop letting his HS coaches dictate his every move. He told him they are gonna drop you if you keep playing games, told him to stay his *** of social media too. The whole thing stinks because the one person who is truly looking out for him is who he doesn't listen too. His coaches are pieces of garbage for how they are handling the kid too.

Probably been said elsewhere in the thread, but worth repeating... As long as Kool is here DL is an area I will not be too concerned with when it comes to recruiting. My guess is there is something going on we don't know but if this kid made a personal decision to NOT be coached by Kool then I question his decision making. Regardless we'll get the talent we need and Kool will turn them into animals.
