A bunch of idiots, complaining on the internet about the loyalty of a guy, when they just spent good money flying a banner thanking him for that same trait a month ago.

Sorry to go Con Air, couldn't resist. Let me be very clear, if I were Al, I would fire Dorito. I hate the defense, and the numbers over the last three weeks are indefensible (like every offense we have played). I just think it is ironic that people are crucifying Golden because he is being loyal to his friend when things are rough, but we all thanked our lucky stars he was loyal to the university when the **** hit the fan.

Define irony: That's like when you cover a piece of wood with iron. It makes the wood sort of irony.

But, seriously. The two loyalties you speak of are completely different. Golden didn't run out because things were tough (he was getting paid to do a job). D'Onofrio appears to be incompetent. You don't reward incompetence with loyalty.
 
Lord knows we need another thread discussing this, but I really have to question anyone who truly believes Golden would sacrifice everything he's trying to do by keeping a coordinator in place he knew was not up to snuff.
 
May as well just rename this the D'Onofrio Board since every thread is about him.


but I don't disagree that the defense has sucked and the fans have too.

We will know if your opinion is correct after the season. If Golden fires Coach D then you are correct. However, I think the likely scenario is that Coach D doesn't go anywhere because Golden is loyal to Coach D and to this scheme the same way he showed loyalty to UM. I think Golden views the success of this defense similar to getting through the NCAA investigation; it will take time and will be painful, but when done right it will unleash something great. Now, I'm not a fan of this defense, the scheme or Coach D but I think this is how it will play out; and if it does, then Golden is essentially going "all in" on his loyalty to Coach D and this defensive scheme.

100% agree, my criticism of AG comes from his lack of decision making on Dorito and the defense. I also fixed one small fact

Miami fans are very similar to my ex girlfriend in college, had money, had a little ****** in her and was very bipolar.

Why wouldn't we be discussing D'Onofrio ad naseum? It's a message board... that's what you do when youve lost 3 straight & given up 40+ in each. You ***** about it.

I'm not crucifying Al Golden b/c he wont fire D'onofrio, i hate Golden b/c he's a garbage *** Head Coach and a ***** *** con-man.

Everything he says is a bunch of bull****. "uh uh the reason i decided to go w/ a 3-4 is b/c we didnt have the numbers at DT, uh uh and it's faster" GTFOH

Hey man, I am not sold on Al. Dude has a sub-500 average as a head coach. I'm just pointing out the irony on this board using a less homo-way than putting it to notes in a alanys morisette song. But it is clear to all of us that the D is crap.
