I’ll only reply once because you fail to recognize any legitimate issue with this team. You are being disingenuous. Ford has little experience and we will need him to start next year. Silvera will be a true freshman. Bethel has little experience and switched from de to dt this past year. Willis can barely stay at Miami a semester without getting in trouble (and also has never been a starter here). To make it all worse, this is assuming that all them stay healthy and all pan out (4* can bust too). 3 Dts in 3 cycles (even if we land Carson and make it 4) is BAD.

You need experience at DT more than anywhere else. Everyone knows this is a strong class and we had a strong year. That doesn’t mean we can’t be worried as **** about our depth DT for 2018 & 2019

We are going to deal with it because it’s not a strong dt class period. We got the best one imo and need to add on a few more . It Is what it is, but I know For **** sure I have the ability to hang on kools developments skills for his positions. If you go only by rankings clemson, Bama, fsu Ohio State, lsu, usc our recruited Miami on the dline yet who led the country in sacks and was #2 in tfls? Miami...

Aldon Smith’s and Shane ray were 4 stars

Is Mizzou the bar for us now? How many titles did they compete for?

I’m listing who he recruited as 4stars I know of. 3 of those 4 were 1st round picks too

Kool didnt recruit those dudes.

It’s also not about the stars either. I’m estimating, but Gerald Willis will be the only DT who’s played over 150 snaps at DT on our roster next year.

This guy turns western Kentucky talent into nfl prospects and these fans have already relegated guys like Martin and fines into the scrap heap.

Yes he did.He was involved in each of their recruitment. Me might not have been the lead guy as Mizzou knew he was not a strong recruiter but I know for a fact he was involved with them.

Norton was 2nd string NT. Mcintosh didn't play a lot.

And they bursted on the scene right? But we can’t expect for ford or bethel to do that according to you?...

I have a different take on DT recruiting. No draft analysis I've been able to find rates Norton better than the 16th best draft eligible DT. He's projected to maybe go in rounds 3-5. RJ McIntosh isn't in anybody's top 25 that I have been able to find. UM has a problem of barely draft ready guys bolting early for the NFL. These guys, based on the information I've been able to find, would be gambling on a lot of DT's leaving the board and early.

This is a problem Richt needs to address. As bad as I hate even the slightest appearance of agreeing with broke, the numbers are what they are. We don't have real depth issues at DT unless BOTH Norton and RJ leave. Not many top rated DE's are going to give Kul the time of day knowing they may not play serious minutes for two or three years. If our guys leave, IMO they'll both be making a mistake, but it just might open up recruiting once playing time becomes something Kul can definitely pitch.

Underrated point you made in the first paragraph. We have 2 guys leaving to go pro to be drafted in the middle-late rounds (if either of them go in round 2 I’ll admit I was wrong). Not many teams can survive 2 true juniors going pro at DT.

Regardless of who goes pro or not, our DT numbers aren’t quite there. We need to land another high level guy (Thompson) this year.

Another point is you don’t recruit DTs for next year, relying on true frosh isn’t a good idea. You recruit 2-3 guys this year for a few years down the road. Taking only Martin and Ford in back to back years was poor planning.

Other guys that turned out to be studs for Mizzou while Kool was there..Ziggy Hood, Mike Sam, Walter Brady (tranferred out after issues) Charles Harris, Shane Ray, Dominique Hamilton, Markus Golden and Kony Ealy.

Anyone that wants to rip on Kool needs to step back and just enjoy how great he is at coaching the D line and let our other closers bring in the croots.

I don't get why this is so hard , it's plain as day.

We won't be a legit contender until we have legit depth at dt. We're pretty much losing majority of our dl depth, that's not how you get better, you get worse. Especially when you're replacing those starters with less talented people.

Lot of kids play both ways in highschool . We need to start finding some big Athletic DT. That’s exactly why I wanted Slaton last year .
