Davonte Brown SR HL

Any concerns over his short area quickness with his 40 and shuttle being so similar? A lot of those highlights are straight line bump coverage.

Also, that boy is really skinny. He needs to hit Swasey’s muscle milk program.

Brown is a boundary corner. He's physical with good length and good speed. He also has good feet. He needs to get a little more fluid in his hips but he's not bad. Needs work on his technique especially in man off coverage. He's much better in press coverage at this point. I like his physical skills but he needs some work on how to use his length better and how to redirect receivers, disrupt routes.

Sounds like just needs some quality coaching

Rumph can do that

Ran in his first 3 HS track meets this past season. Started out at 11.78 and finished with 11.22 at the districts. Kid id definitely headed for the 10.8-11.0 range so plenty of long speed.

Perfect scheme fit imo.

Overused phrase^ Becoming very cliche

I like Hodges tape a little better...Brown has the better times measurable, and his tape shows a step forward (I didn't even think the junior tapes were comparable with Hodges being better). They are interchangeable to me.

good player, and I'm rooting for him as a 'cane legacy.

but let's face it, this isn't the kind of player who helps you win championships.

that being said, i hope he shows up, proves me wrong, and throws it all back in my face.

Ehhhh...not alone and prob not with a whole defensive backfield of him, but there is upside with the size/speed combo. May have high ceiling...You can win with him and other (maybe more dynamic) talent on the back end

Sofla DBs that weren't highly rated getting drafted every **** april.

We still aren't getting the elite DBs, but this is solid big corner film. I can see him ending up at 6'2, 190 with legit 4.5 speed.

If he ends up that size and speed, then he's a strong safety in this scheme. Not a corner. JMHO

And if he runs track and gets down to 10.7-8 by the time he comes to Miami he’ll be a real burner and have the speed yall want at CB and be a legacy take him get kids who want to be canes!!!!

He's really solid. He can definitely play corner, FWIW. For you Rumph fans, this is the type of guy you're going to pound your chest on if he can develop him. Just needs to clean up technique but his film showed a lot. Can play bump. Can play off. Can play some Cover 3 and run to the deep third as well as Cover 2 sitting down. Can play some run and showed some good instincts in the film on the select run stops they showed. Feet always moving. He's got a skill set to work with. But, I've also seen Romello Brinson spin this young man like a top. It happens.
