Former Canes Hoops star Davon Reed had a great opening performance for the Phoenix Suns at the Las Vegas summer league last night. Reed scored 17 points in 20 minutes of play. He was 6-11 from the field and 2-4 from 3-point range. Highlights below:

Reed has also impressed Suns' shooting guard Devin Booker.

He can pay defense and at 6'6", solid offense that he can improve, should make him a mainstay in the league (IMO)

Reed was always a player I focused on when I would watch our Canes in action, I liked his game BUT always thought he should've been more physical and used his size more.. At 6'6" playing the guard/sf position he should've had the ball in his hands more attacking and not settling for so many jumpers.. I think with the right trainer developing his game, this guy could be a real solid player in the league, because with his size and ability, he could be a big time baller in the league..

His 2nd game, not so good. 3-14 including 0-7 from 3 and 4 turnovers. Kamati got in for 9 minutes for the Nets and score 2 pts and had 2 rebounds.
