Can someone give a deeper analysis on what they see?

I see a really large TE who routinely plays on or outside the hash, but don't really note as much suddenness in his breaks or movements as you'd expect from someone in that role. Seems to have very clean hands. Seems to have good contact balance. Looks like a natural over the middle. Didn't really see enough examples of precise routes to judge much of that aspect. They were, after all, sophomore highlights. Ha.

Anyone with more perspective?

I see a complete mismatch nightmare. Like you said, he just finished his sophomore year in HS and he looks like a power forward. I don’t see the world’s most athletic kid, I see a very plus athlete in a grown man’s body who is going to be a freight train by the time he turns 19 and 20 years old. Excellent at the catch point. Just let this kid work the middle of the field against safeties and backers and he’s gonna eat. He’s going to win with his size and strength and ability to track the ball. And I guarantee you he’ll be in some drills with Mirabal because I expect him to punish people at the end of the LOS as an in-line blocker. A little less athletic Kyle Pitts?

What do you think of a Brandon Pettigrew comparison?

From Gaby:

"Mitchell has not relayed his decision to either program, and it sounds like both programs will get on the phone with the 6-foot-4, 245-pounder tonight. The plan for Mitchell appears to be having some of those final discussions, sleeping on a decision, and coming out with an answer on Saturday morning."

"It feels like a true toss up here on Friday evening, but 247Sports West Coast analyst Greg Biggins did catch up with Mitchell earlier in the day and came away feeling like Miami had a very real chance here. I believe in the possibility of that more so now than any time prior."

"Miami runs NFL style concepts at the tight end position, and that has opened the door to multiple top-rated tight ends choosing to play their college football in Coral Gables. It’s a deep room, but one that is built on true development both at the line of scrimmage and in pro passing concepts. It’s clear that Mitchell and some around him understand that aspect of Miami and it’s helped."

TE is one of those positions that to choose OU over UM is just ridiculous. I know they have Mark Andrews more recently but after that it’s a lot of absolute nothing.

I’m not familiar with OU’s TE room at all, but I’m sure they pushing the pt argument hard. It’s no secret we’ve taken a ton of good TEs lately.

I don’t want people to freak out when I say this but he reminds me a bit of juiced up Standish Dobard. Like if you took Standish and pumped up every one of his attributes a couple of points (with still a ton of room to grow of course)

Imagine picking Oklahoma over miami, I can’t even locate Oklahoma on a **** map. Imagine not being able to eat sea food for 4 years. Not even sure if they have an airport there or you gotta take horse n buggy everywhere.
No seafood but all you can eat catfish, and we are fans of covered wagons if you get my drift

Imo he knows where he’s going and the plan of late is for him to reclassify to 24

Nah I think it does... D$ likely knows who. He gave a hint by saying the last 2 times he got the vague firework comment it was for Colins and Cormani. Neither we were expecting, neither were being discussed on the board then boom. Mitchell has a lot of smoke so no reason to try to lump them together.

Mitchell does quality as fireworks however. Dude is a stud and a great pickup wherever he goes.
Fireworks to me sounds like Colin Simmons, maybe Wingo. But thats if im looking at someone we werent thinking of. It could be David Stone for all we know

It’s hard for me to believe a guy who’s from Cali would pick Oklahoma over Miami purely just based on weather
except there were thunderstorms every visit weekend in June.

we're done with Baez n those stupid weather tweets. we should want kids to pick Miami bc of the vision the staff sold them of their future here, not weather or other BS

Calm down, isn't the major factor but **** it helps
