West is a consensus 4-star safety from Lima, Ohio. He measures in at around 6-0 and 195 lbs.
He was supposedly a heavy Kentucky lean who was scheduled to announce his decision this Thursday (5/30). However, he postponed his announcement so he could visit Ole Miss, and who else? You guessed it, Miami.

Lima (Ohio) Central Catholic four-star safety Darius West reported to 247Sports that he will no longer be announcing his college decision on Thursday.
The 6-foot, 195-pound West was slated to choose from his four finalists, Kentucky, Louisville, Michigan State and Wisconsin.
"I need to really think about it all and take all my visits to really find the best fit for me, and I think it was just a little too early. I just feel this is best for me."
West is ranked by the 247Composite as the nation's No. 15 safety and No. 211 prospect overall. He added that he's trying to get down to Miami and Ole Miss.
Besides the schools mentioned, other programs to offer West includes Boston College, Cincinnati, Duke, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, N.C. State, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Purdue, Vanderbilt and West Virginia.
As a junior, West registered 45 tackles, five interceptions and two forced fumbles.
