In our 4 losses this year:

We gave up 28 scoring drives, 20 of which were TDs. That is an average of 7 scoring drives per game, 71% TDs

We forced 9 punts and only 6 were three and outs. That is an average of 2.25 punts per game and 1.5 three and outs.

Basically our D will force 1 punt per half and the other team will score on every other drive or kneel on the ball. Shockingly bad.

As for the offense in those 4 losses:

We converted 12/50 3rd down opportunities for 24%. While our competition converted 32/56 for 57%.

If you throw in our wins against Pitt and Virginia, our conversion rate climbs to 33% and our opponents falls to a mere 51%.

Having said this, I am willing to give Coley more time with a QB who is able to use the middle of the field (crucial for 3rd down conversion). D'Onofrio has no excuses, he needs to be gone. Even below average talent should post better numbers than this. This tells me that scheme has a lot to do with our D woes.
