Watching the past couple of games - I truly believe we have a product to sell to 4-5* DL studs.

If we want to win Championships I believe it starts in the trenches, and we need to really push to get players like Ed Oliver/Dexter Lawrence
to add to Norton, Macintosh, Willis. I don't blame kids for not coming with our last staff..... but this will be a huge key to or future.

I like the young DE talent - Jackson, Bethel, DJ Johnson, Garvin, but we need to land Ford +1 more DT this year.

It's still early but I like what I've seen so far...Amazing that Al's players have been so productive since his and Dono's departure.

Yep. Very evident early on, that good coaching can make a huge impact.the prior staff, which we have beat to a dead horse was a joke.

I've said this probably a dozen times, but I guess I have to say it again...

In this Defense, Coach Kool is not going to recruit the typical big fat slow lumbering 300+ lbs DT.

He wants fast athletic versatile lineman that can get up the field & move. Guys that are between 6'3-6'6 & 240-280lbs (obviously not right out of high school but kids will put more weight on once in the program).

The thought process is, having DL's that can play all along the line, interchangeable athletes that can play both DE & DT, who can both rush the passer & be effective against the run.

What that means is, even if we take a whole bunch of DE's in a class that doesn't mean that we'll be thin at DT.

They are purposely loading up at DE, just because a Defensive lineman that we recruit doesn't play traditional DT, doesn't mean that he won't be playing it once he gets here.

Kuligowski will go after his type of players. Oliver, etc...may not be the type of DT he wants....

When you're a difference maker as a coach, the recruits know that nowadays. And we'll be winning big again soon enough.

Add these together and let the recruits come to us....

Ed Oliver isn't fat or slow. That big boy can move, top 5 pick when he comes out. Not sure on Lawrence, haven't seen enough of him yet. Agree that Coach Kul isn't looking for your typical 300+ DTs but guarantee he would take Oliver.

I agree on the DL recruiting tact Kool uses, but no way Kool would not recruit or turn down a "top" 300 lb DT like Ed Oliver and Dex Lawrence.

Kool will have kids calling him. When they see us getting in the backfield. That's has been the major separation between us and FSU front 7 talent, depth and coaching especially. It starts with coaching because u can make average players better as a unit than they are individually. You can make a player like Michael Sam SEC defensive player of the year. Then you get a brand name like Miami and you get top talent.
