need him and Pierre healthy. That at least helps the **** poor excuse for a rush defense that we had. Chick can hold his own. Pass rush? That's another issue.... but the DBs that we have are studs.

Porter is a plug, bit he is not just a plug. he has the ability to collapse the pocket in passing situations. if he is healthy, he can be really good.

  • I know he's had injury trouble, but that's just disturbing to read. We're relying heavily on him to help improve the defense or we're ****ed. The most important player for this season has played in 8% of our games since 2009.

Came back to read it again before I try to pass this off on my wife. " Honey, your not fat, your weight gain has made you faster and more explosive" hmmm..

I think Porter has been unlucky more than injury-prone.

In 2010, he got rolled up and blew out his knee when someone fell on the back of his leg against Ohio St.

In 2011, he broke his finger during training camp and it got infected.

In 2012, he had the complications with appendicitis.

Those are acute injuries/ailments as opposed to chronic injuries (back pain, foot fractures, knee injuries to the same knee, etc...).

Hopefully he's not snakebit and gets a chance at a relatively healthy season.

So in a 2009 he was ranked the 54th best DT when He signed with UM coming out of Victory Christian HS in North Carolina, Porter was 6'2" 332 lbs ran a 5.1sec 40 yd time benched 350lbs and squated 550lbs.

We fast forward 4 years and he is now stronger and faster than compared to what not the testing numbers for when he arrived at UM? So basically he arrived at UM and had a major regression in his physical development and is now getting back to just below his physical abilities coming out of high school. Either his injuries really reaked havoc on his body or something was seriously wrong with UM's S&C program or a combination of both.

I am betting on both, but I am glad they got things working right and Porter can give it the season his last best shot on his way potentially to playing on sundays with his best healthy playing days ahead of him.

I personally saw him his freshmen year and the boy was fat. And fat is putting it kindly. It was very bad body weight that the young man carried. Porter has truly transformed his body and is a grown man now.

You want to live off his bogus high school numbers then fine. But don't come posting on here to try and convince fans that what he has done is something minor. You are way off base here. Curtis Porter has worked his tail off and as I fan, I'm thankful for his commitment!

I am not living off anything I was putting things in perspective interms of gains and losses made over the last 5 years. And his hgh school numbers weren't inflated because he and micanor regis testested out at the top of the strength charts from Porters freshman year. But Again I am not down playing his come back in anyway so stop trying to instigate bull$&#* on here with unsubstantiated statements, I provided hard facts and you attempt to sully my post just to stir the pot. Not cool bro.

And also your post implies that I don't appreciate Porters commitment in someway, which couln't be further from the truth CP is one of my favorite canes on the current roster.

First off, and I am shocked no one saw this, PLEASE REDSHIRT EARL MOORE!! My God! Do you see his pic? We cannot go to battle with him next year. If Renfrow and Kamalu get in..Throw a redshirt on that guy and tell him see you next year and lead him to the nutrituion room and weight room. Smh.

Porter has had buzzard luck. But we need him more then anybody. He looks good I must say. Looks like good weight he gained. Not just a fat slob like Darius Smith.

Paranos, I usually ride with you, but u come across a little negative in that post. I get your overall point but lets just focus on that fact that buddy is where he needs to be now and that we have a great S&C program now and he has def bought into it.

  • Hence Goldens' "scouring the waver wire". Here's to hoping this year will be different for him.

He has been injured so often I almost wish we would put a red no-contact vest on Porter for this camp. I'm confident that he'll have a strong performance this season.
