After cruching the number ...

It seem Alex Figueroa has taken Tim Williams spot...

With sanction looming AG must find away to
balance his roster out the next few season

If UM is hit with 20 S'ships over 4 years
that's 5 S'ships a year.
20 new S'ship per year
and a roster of max. 80 S'ships player..

Signing 20 player in this class would leave future
classes number at risk of ever smaller numbers
(13 in 2014 and 8 in 2015.)

This is why I believe signing a class 17 and below is the right thing ,
ever if Henderson and Porter go Pro.

With this assumption Golden must still cut 4-6 player
in order to sign a class of 15-17 and imposing 5 S'ship a year loss (*if UM choice to self imposing*)

Committed (11)
DT Keith Bryant (soft)
DB Artie Burns
DB Jamal Carter
TE Standish Dobard
OL Alex Gall
WR Angelo Jean-Louis
WR/TE/HB Travis Johnson
TE/OL Jeremy Kerr
RB/S Ray Lewis III(walk-on)
QB Kevin Olsen

ADD DE Alex Figueroa to make eleven

That leaves

OT,RB,(TE or WR 1),1 DT (1 juco),2 LB
position of need totaling 17 in this year class

Eh

I think these types of things are worthless because no matter how much you try, it is impossible to know the REAL numbers (captain obvious)

I don't believe in a new commit taking a certain recruit's "spot". He may have taken a spot, but I highly doubt they're going to just say "Let's stop recruiting a kid we've been on hard for more than 6 months just because we got this commitment."

This means nothing. Alex is a EE and counts for last year. There will be cuts on this team for sure. If the studs want in the staff will make room.

Thanks for the post anyway. Thing is...look at one of our certain situations: AJL. For nearly a year, we think he's a sure "number" to count. Now 3 months post-prep, we find out he may still not even come in. **** happens.

I'm not sure I understand the overwhelmingly negative reaction to this post. Yes, many people have wondered the class makeup. But at least it's well-thought out and counted up in a logical way. I think this one falls into the category of "if you don't think that the thread is of value, don't bother posting in it." There are certainly more offensive displays of idiocy on this board.

Absolutely. We might take as many as 20 if they wanna come. Remember, we will probably take 3 or 4 Jucos. They only stay two (2) years which automatically opens up that number of ships under the maximum cap. That allows a couple of frosh who enter in next two years to redshirt and then participate when they are bigger & stronger (and our incoming class is smaller.)

A bunch of assumptions. Big ****** deal.

Well said. I like reading these threads that break **** down since Im too dumb to figure it out myself.

you guys are such hater....
we're not signing a class of 20
Get over it ...

So I'll response to you Peter
My point is were not taken 2 DE in this class

Al Golden may believe Alex has a higher ceiling then Williams.
IMO over the next few week we'll heard ,Al Golden and staff
losing interest in Williams ...Just my opinion
