2015 ATH Jordan Cronkrite displayed his talents this past Friday when his team took on Miami High in their spring game. His efforts led to a resounding 42-6 win which believes helped the team.
“It was good coming out here and showcasing what we have been doing in practice this spring. We have been working hard in the offseason, I don’t think we had one bad practice.”
The warriors were looking to send a message with this win, showing all the other teams to keep an eye out for Westminster.
“We really came out here to show everybody that we’re a team to watch this year and I’m not saying that because I’m big headed but we’ve really been working.”
The Westminster product has seen a large rise in the number of schools after him including recent offers from Florida State and West Virginia. He spoke about what it was like receiving an offer from the Seminoles.
“It was really nice because I’ve been waiting for the second in state big offer, Florida State, It’s really nice for me to have on the board.”
Some schools that have also offered the dual sided threat are Cincinatti and Penn State.
While Cronkrite has racked up a total of twelve offers, he still claims he is open to the process.
“I’m still open to everybody.”
One school that is actively recruiting the 2015 athlete is the hometown Miami Hurricanes. Cronkrite has major interest in the university and has spoken with several coaches.
“I’m real cool with Coach (Michael) Barrow and Coach (Paul) Williams. It’s really cool there, it’s like a brother to brother environment. They become close to the players there. It just feels like home.”
One interesting factor in Cronkrite’s recruitment is how his current teammate and close friend Tim Irvin is also being recruited by Miami. The possibility of the duo both ending up in Coral Gables is something that intrigues Cronkrite.
“We have been playing together since 8th grade, and through high school and so the chemistry is there on the field already, that would be really good for us to go to the same school.”
Cronkrite is planning on attending the Al Golden Football camp this summer.
