I get that our linebackers are young, but geez, they aren't so **** young they can't check the runningback coming out of the backfield.

Cornelius, Johnson, and Armbrister all routinely let the runningback go right by them. Is it scheme? Is it inexperience? Is it stupidity? Yards shouldn't come that easy.

I'd like Dynasty and Penn to come in here so we can continue the discussion we had during the off-season:

WTF is the deal with these guys' lack of comfort passing guys off in zone? On the last touchdown, if memory serves correctly, Cornelius simply carried the slot WR too deep, where he should have been passed off to VT. Now, maybe the LBs don't feel comfortable passing guys off to Safeties with minimal range, but when you carry a guy that deep and an underneath route comes into your zone...

...well, you saw the result. He wasn't within 10 yards of the player.

And it wasn't just RBs. The tight ends were running wide open in the flats as well. Either a LB or S has to be responsible, but these guys had no one within 10 yards. I don't understand how our guys are always so confused with their pre-snap assignments and letting guys clear like that time after time.

IMO, it really boils down to how we are going to play underneath coverage. We are terrible at spot dropping, and I'm not sure if we would excel at pattern reading where we basically turn zone into man. I think we need to figure out how to take away number two receivers because they will destroy our zone coverages moving forward. With regards to flat coverage, we simply blew coverage and got out-flanked at times. If we are going to give up the flats we had better rally faster than what we did today.
