Again these are golden's recruits.

So can we please stop with the whole Shannon mess. Lol

You cannot blame him for everything.

Nobody mentioned Shannon. Not sure where you got that from. There are still plenty of other things we an blame of Corch Shannon though.

Are you under the influence of narcotics right now? Who mentioned Shannon in here before you did?

As to the topic at hand, hopefully Corey King has been kicked off the team to make room for someone that isn't absolutely horrible at the game of football.

we can blame Shannonigans for Corey King being on the roster. He was a last second desperation take because we had literally nothing at DT when Golden took over

No. I was being sarcastic! Like we already know someone will post a message saying this is Shannon's fault.

I was trying to say it's funny to me because Golden is high character and for some crazy reason these young pups are not adjusting too well. Happens everywhere but interested to see if it will hurt us in the long run.

Did not read anywhere that he was kicked off the team, he played against Va Tech, what happened? He is better than Ivery who cannot move laterally, why was he kicked off the team?

Careful.

You'll get labeled an excuse-maker.

I like to label myself a realist. This team was a 6-6 / 7-5 team going into the year because the talent is 6-6/ 7-5. Nothing magically changed in the middle of the year to change that.

DT situation when Golden took over:

Regis
Forston
Porter
Robinson

So Golden brought in:

Pierre (solid)
Smith (awful)
King (young but likely not great)

Moore (looks okay)
Ivery (burned a redshirt for no reason)
Briscoe (moved to OL apparently)

Clearly not ideal but he had some bad luck with injuries to Forston, Porter, and Luther.

Bottom line: Golden needs to recruit some better DT's and fast.

absolutely. Would have liked to see a better class of DT's in last yrs class. year 1 Golden had to scrap together any kid that was willing to take a scholarship. Looks like we are bringing in some beasts in this class though in Bryant and probably Bostwick. Hopefully he supplements his yr 1 class of DT's with a monster JuCo in Hooks/T.Johnson/Butler

It would've been huge if we could've pulled Eddie Goldman.

Valiant recruiting effort, but almost doesn't count.

Agreed.

Bryant and Bostwick would make things look bring in the future. Some how we pull Tim Williams that would be excellent too.

But the three above don't solve the problem in 2013. We will have to either bring in some JUCOs or hope that Moore, Ivery, Pierre and a healthy Porter are ready to go.

A defensive line class of Bryant, Bostwick, Hooks, Williams, and Bond would look mighty nice. 2 plug and play veterans at tackle and end, and talented freshman across the board.

Plus I imagine Matthew Thomas will get some snaps at defensive end in his career here.
