Was speaking on this with @Cribby in the other thread and what yall (and a few knowledgeable Gator fans) pointed out is that his HS wasnt impressive and he was slow and undersized and that rang true at UF and he was recruited over immediately

For as much as the term “star *****” gets thrown around by a lot of posters here, Collier was a very highly ranked local recruit that many of us saw as vastly overrated and not worth a scholarship. The only reason some would’ve been OK with him coming was if it would’ve helped us with the rest of the Palmetto 5 that year.

For as much as some like to pretend that the only Miami targets ever questioned are of the 3* variety, it’s simply not true.
