9 lossed in 5 seasons,2 national championship games with 1 title & he contributed to the recruiting classes that won in 89' and 91'! Johnson was a legend here,period.

And he kept it a national title program by help create one of the greatest dynasties in CFB history. Could have easily won 3 straight national titles and his players almost won 4 straight.

CFB Live did an interview with him yesterday. They asked about his opinion on a 4 team playoff type system, he was asked "How many NCs would you have won at Miami ?" His response, "How many fingers do I have?"

Howard recruited Jerome Brown, Danny Stubbs, Alonzo Highsmith, Melvin Bratton, Willie Smith, Brian and Bennie Blades, Eddie Brown, Stanley Shakespeare, Michael Irvin, Bill Hawkins, Vinny Testaverde, Bernie Kosar, Brett Perriman, Derwin Jones, Alfredo Roberts, Rod Carter, and (yes) Randy Shannon.

That class did Johnson well.
