While Johnson is listed as a Wide Receiver on most sites, I don't expect him to play that position primarily at Miami. Look for him to have no set position, as he is extremely versatile. Standing at about 6'2-6'3, he has a wide lower base that makes him look more like a tight end. His speed isn't great, but he is smooth as a route runner and has incredible hands. At Saturday's camp, I did not see him drop a single pass. He looked pretty good in the short amount of time that I saw him doing blocking drills. He looks raw in that department, but has the body to develop and improve at it no doubt. You will see him all over the field at Miami, possibly playing an Aaron Hernandez type of role. He can play in the slot and cause mismatch problems, play outside against smaller corners, or even play as a natural tight end on the line. This addition compliments the other two tight ends in the class perfectly. Despite speculation that Jeremy Kerr may be moved to OL, I think he will be used as a blocking tight end and don't see him moving to the line. Standish Dobard is an athletic freak who is the most balanced of the three, and Johnson will be the receiving threat. Overall, I love the pick-up and think the staff did a great job with these three because they all have different strengths.
