i am relatively new when it comes to recruiting, this is the first year i've really paid attention. i was just wondering the last time a class has really come together to come to Miami. it seems that duke and deon have been the real leaders of this class which i don't believe is normal. if we could get a couple people every year like those two. also can't wait to see the freshman class get on the field especially duke and deon

The 08 class talked a lot about bringing back the swagger, bringing back tha U, glory days, etc. But not the way Duke has been.

I don't know about that, there was a lot of buzz around the '08 class IIRC I know Jacory and company was talking the same way. We just need to actually produce and back that kind of talk up.

Ummm in 08 we got something like 11 recruits from only 2 different schools (Northwestern and Booker T Washington).

I would call that as you stated "the last time a class has really come together to come to Miami."

11 recruits by my count is more than the 3 or 4 that Duke has helped come in. (Duke, AJL, Howard/maybe, and Lewis).

Hopefully this class will be better overall, but don't get too excited over any 1 class. We have a long way to go.
 
well we have more kids from the miami area just not as highly touted as the 08 kids

I haven't gone back and looked at the numbers as to which class had more kids from S. Florida.

Well to answer your question 11 different kids from 2 different schools all knew one another, recruited one another, and "came together." That class talked more and recruited themself more than Duke. Does that make them better? Nope Does that diminish what Duke is doing? No

I know you are trying to give Duke extra props and **** he is doing a great job, but the 08 class of NW and BTW did more to bring those 11 players into Miami than Duke and his 3,4,5 whatever.

I personally like this 2012 class better than the 2008 class overall.
