Columbus- Killian Recap
Columbus led 14-0 at the half, but Killian stormed back to win 21-17.
Notes-
-Columbus’ Lorenzo Woodley scored two touchdowns today, both were goal-line Touchdowns, but he had a good game regardless. I like Woodley's physical attributes, but dislike his running style. He tries to be shifty when he should be straight power. I mentioned Woodley earlier today as he is one of the many runningbacks Miami is scouting. I spoke to Woodley about the phone call and Williams just asked him for his tape so they could scout him and see if they offer and that he is in a group of 6 other running backs they're looking at.
-Killian’s Jaquan Johnson is this years “AJ Leggett”, the kid can do everything. Offense-He can play WR or RB. On Defense, he can lineup at Safety or Corner. The kid is a monster and makes plays all over he field. He made the game winning touchdown catch with 25 seconds left in the game and the game winning interception. I call him “AJ Leggett” because the kid is carrying his team to the playoffs like Leggett did, the kid is a monster.
-Killian's Trumaine Washington had a good game against his former team. Washington had was matched up with Jesus Wilson tonight a lot. He had a big impact on the game, as he held Wilson in check for most of the game excluding a big bomb that set up Columbus for a Field Goal.
-Someone to keep an eye out for on Killian is WR Malcolm Vandergraff (6'1"), made some big plays including a tough fourth down catch to keep Killian in the game. Good size and speed
-2015 S Calvin Brewton didn’t have a great game but rather a huge highlight. He destroyed Vandergraff on a pass across the middle and I mean this in a good way and don't take it wrong, but a “Nigel Bradham/Laron Byrd” type of hit (Except no flag.). Calvin is someone to keep an eye out for.
-This game is bigger than it seems, as this is a possible and most likely early preview of the third round of the playoffs for both these teams.
