Desmond Howard- Miami over Clemson
Lee Corso- FSU over UNC
Kirk Herbstreit- Clemson over Miami

Corso's a senile, old ****, could care less what he thinks

Don't understand the Clemson hype.
They got Boyd and Watkins and that's it. Their OL is suspect have jag RB's and their Defense was average last year.
But yeah they're the #8 team in the country I guess.

Clemson has a legit heisman candidate in Boyd, and one of the elite Playmakers in Watkins.

They are coming off 10 and 11 win seasons. They return almost everyone off a defense that got better and better, and should be much improved.

They have one of the best kickers.

They also have talented WR's other than Watkins in Bryant, Peake, and Hopper.

They deserve a top 10 ranking IMO, but of course they have to prove it again on the field.
 
If we aren't playing for the ACC Championship, this season was a disappointment.

They beat LSU to end the season and Boyd is the top 1-5 prospect depending on who you ask. In college a good QB goes a long way. There's no reason not to expect Clemson to be a good team this year.

The bigger issue is the fact that these preseason polls mean anything at all. Texas and USC were terrible last year but preseason ranked? GTFOH.

I like what corso and herb did, those two couldn't pick a Oreo or chocolate chip cookie right. Plus they jinx every team they pick.

So who are you rooting for, the Noles? If were pre-judging this year off of last year's defense between FSU, Clemson, Miami, North Carolina and Va Tech.....the Noles had the best defense. Va Tech had the second best defense last year. So are we really predicting a FSU-VT ACCCG? No.

The 2 best teams in this league are Clemson & Florida State, but they both can't play for the title, so I pick Clemson to represent the Atlantic. In the Coastal with Miami, North Carolina and Georgia Tech all vowing to fix their defense and Va Tech vowing to fix it's putrid offense.....I think Miami will represent the Coastal. But that can go either way depending on what happens in Chapel Hill on a Thursday.

If Miami beats FSU & Florida this year and Clemson beats UGA, FSU and SCar this year.....we are talking about to likely undefeated teams playing for chance to go to the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP.

It's that simple.

And that's the flaw people make.. Prejudge based on last years results and put to much weight on it for their predictions. FSU lost a lot on defense. Sure they recruited well have some studs but they still have to prove they can perform.. Just like everyone else. They also lost their DC.. To think they're just going to come in and not miss a beat is being short sighted.
Clemson is going to struggle more on offense this year.. If their defense doesn't improve from last year than they won't be winning more than 9 games.

Its obvious you dont watch much colege football outside of Miami, especially Clemson. They are a **** good team who deserve their high ranking. Sometimes you guys show your lack of football knowledge with posts like the one you threw out there.

Its obvious you dont watch much colege football outside of Miami, especially Clemson. They are a **** good team who deserve their high ranking. Sometimes you guys show your lack of football knowledge with posts like the one you threw out there.

It's obvious you don't look beyond W/L records smart guy.
Clemson played a weak ACC schedule losing only to FSU. Their OOC was soft except for USCe which they lost.
Defense is still suspect and they have questions at the OL.

Not saying they suck, but the hype is unwarranted.. Just my opinion.
