These things are almost should always be taken with a grain of salt as there is no way a staff of a few writers can be really knowledgeable of 122 teams, but I still always find it interesting to see outsiders' take on Miami and I think for the most part, the article is pretty accurate:

Some highlights:

"Miami is trending north for fourth-year head coach Al Golden, who’s done a solid job of shepherding the program through the distractions and noise of NCAA sanctions. The Canes have upped their win total each of the last two seasons, going 9-4 in 2013. Against the toughest opponents on the schedule, though, they struggled; a 41-14 loss to Florida State. Falling by 18 points to Virginia Tech and Coastal champ Duke. And getting whipped by Louisville in the Russell Athletic Bowl. Miami learned in the first-half of 2013 that it was heading in the right direction. The second-half showed there’s still a long way to go."

and

"The D is a problem that shows no signs of disappearing. Golden might want to get a jump start on hiring a new coordinator for 2015, in the event sharply-criticized Mark D’Onofrio and his players continue to underachieve."

The D is a problem? He might want to look for a new DC if problems persist? Interesting, I will need time to consider this.

"Writer must be leader of the mope squad"

WAIT FOR IT......................
****, I figured it would end up with more of the "mopes" killing the writer for giving Golden any credit for how he's gotten us thru the sanctions, and also for the "trending" jargon he co-opted.

I figured he'd already have gotten nailed for this gem:

"Make no mistake about it. Miami is going in the right direction, with Golden methodically overseeing every stage of the rebuilding plan. Are the Hurricanes ready to compete for championships again? Not quite. But there’s stability, momentum and radically changed culture in Coral Gables. Oh, and the botched NCAA investigation is finally completed, too. Golden will bring the 10-win seasons back to Miami. Cane fans need to exercise patience for just a little while longer."

Looks like a fair article to me. Tells the good and the bad. Hate to say that about anything Scout affiliated, but it's not bad.

Pretty much most of the fans feel that way I think. Golden should be given time. Get rid of No D....already but certainly if things dont do a 150-180. Lots jumped off Golden train since je refuse to hold No D accountable and the Penn St fiasco. Sums it up pretty much.

Said what we already knew, but at least they're right. Some of these have a bunch of nonsense in them.

As long as Golden is here....so will Dnofrio. He will never fire his best friend and the guy that he convinced not to take the Temple head job.

I don't agree with this. Al is a loyal guy, but if the D doesn't improve the D'onofrio is gone. I seriously doubt that if given the choice between firing D'onofrio and staying or leaving with D'onofrio and going to another program, that Al would leave what he's built to take over a lesser program just to be with his bud.

Please for the love of god tell me how Golden "got us through sanctions"!

Glazer had nothing to do with it I guess?

Coach L gets no credit for getting the ball squad through the mess (and rightfully shouldn't)

Oh but Corch Gorlden "got us through the cloud"?!

Why'd we waste money on Glazer punching hole after hole after hole in NCAA case?

We spent all that cash and we already had Gorlden taking care of things

Hahahahaha

Per Chris Broussard, "Done deal. Miami has No D and their DC is constantly criticized, credit the entire Canes Insight board. Source confirms"
