Among the early camp news that some new guys are impressing and S/C seems to be better, i love reading how UM's coaches talk about players and can evaluate them year to year. Fisch might say something like 'Dorsett is doing this better than last year.' Or Coach D. would say 'Porter has done this better than in year's past.' Gold might point out that 'Morris looks as strong as before but more confident.'

These hypothetical, but accurrate quotes so far, are only made because coaches have seen these players before...in last year's camps and practices. They have done their own eval's...not going off solely film or the previous position coaches' assessment. The simple fact that we some decent continuity among the staff, IMO, will do good things for the team...in, where it counts, the W-L column.

Surprise that this hasn't been brought up much, continuity is HUGE in my eyes, it's a reason why Virginia Tech is always at the top of the division/conference every year.

To be fair Beamer and Foster are at the top of their profession. However, your point is well received. We need to hang on to Fisch as long as possible...I'm guessing Coach D will stick around for a long time as well.

continuity has always been an issue at UM...imagine if we could have held on to Jimmy, butch, or schnell? I hope all puts in 10 plus years. Long term tenures is rare these days in CFB

Staff continuity is great, but, on the flip-side, the best staffs Miami has ever had, were ones that had coaches who moved upward on the coaching ladder and were coveted. If you don't have enough coaches that others want to poach, it's telling

Look back to JJ's staffs or the early one assembled by ERRickson, they had guys who were highly thought off to get other big-time gigs.

But yeah, I hear ya, for now, the continuity after the past several years is very welcomed

Its huge, bigger on O than D IMHO. I fully expect better execution in all phases, especially in the passing game. Combine that with better conditioning & talent (even though young), and this team is setting up nicely, so long as we get lucky and avoid major injuries.

Yeah...I'm all for coaches moving on when the time is right. If/when they are successful at Miami, bigger and better jobs will be available to them. It's win win.
It seems like our revolving door of position coaches seems to have slowed a little.
