While I'd like to see Haith and Hurtt burn a little, it stands to reason that anything that is good for them is good for us.

Maybe most of the allegations against them are corroborated only by a stuttering Shapiro, and the charges against them are dropped. Or maybe we're about to hear some interesting stories from our former coach, explanations for their (mis)conduct, perhaps.

Using their lies AFTER they left the []_[] as a basis for LOIC against Miami should be challenged by Miami as well. That is fcking stupid and shows just how fcking retarded NCAA attorneys are. What they lied about could be used for LOIC, but them lying when they aren't part of the school?!

We should challenge them on every point. . . . HOWEVER, we must believe we've self-imposed enough.

NCAA needs to just let it go at this point. NCAA should count itself EXTREMELY fortunate that we self-imposed so much bc it actually allows them to save face now. Imagine had we not self-imposed and they tried to do ANYTHING to Miami.

W what's gone on so far, I think you've nailed it that NCAA is basing its "lies" allegations on Shapiro's statements alone. If so, that should be the test run to toss the entire case against Miami.

throw em out. this only helps our case. If this happens then the NCAA is going forward with a LOIC charge against the university when the cases against the people who allegedly did all the dirty deeds are all thrown out.. think that bodes pretty well for us.

Will post link to AP's final version (well, I hope final) of tonight's NCAA-Miami story shortly, including a bit of detail on Hurtt charges.

The motion, according to the person, says the three coaches believe the NCAA's alliance with the attorney for the former booster at the center of the Miami scandal has created a scenario where they cannot "get a fair and reasonable proceeding."

A conference call on the matter is scheduled for Friday with the NCAA.

"It's unprecedented that all this is happening, and happening this way," the person said.

The case that will be presented on behalf of Hill, Morton and Fernandez is also expected to include the assertion that since the NCAA cooperated with Shapiro attorney Maria Elena Perez — who deposed two witnesses that the NCAA wanted to hear from as part of her client's bankruptcy case and used subpoena power to do so, a tool the association does not have in its ****nal — that fraud was also perpetrated on the bankruptcy court."

YES YES YES

"A person familiar with the matter told The AP that the Rule 10.1 charge against Hurtt largely stems from the NCAA's belief that he was not truthful in a November 2011 interview with investigators, one that included questions about whether he provided improper meals, transportation and some lodging for a small number of recruits and players."

THEY DONT HAVE **** MANE

OH NOES FREE DINNER

If true...I am really starting to wonder how the **** they came up with LOIC. As angry as I have been about the whole thing, the more that leaks out the more it's clear this really was a witch hunt that was endorsed by Emmert. It's really becoming clear why DS said **** you to the NCAA.

How crazy would it be if the COI decides they don't want to hear these cases. Not going to happen, but it's worth a dream.
