Coaches at Chaminade this morning

Chaminade and STA just raided U-School.

I think that has more to do with Uschool administration pushing kids out than it does STA/CM recruiting their kids. Seems as though they want to be a Pinecrest type school rather than the circus that it used to be.

Well I think that was the case under Harriott. I'm not sure that's what is going on now. I talked to U-School's head coach yesterday and it sounded like he was trying to get some more kids. (or replacements rather)

I know exactly what you're talking about though. The thing is, Harriott had that place over-populated with athletes from all over the county and they were basically running the school. Their presence was too over powering. (at least this is what my buddy's mom said, who's a teacher there) Harriott brought in TOO MANY kids. It seems to me that the administration is okay with recruiting if it's done in moderation.

That was another thing that always made me SMH about Harriott. Dude, how many **** city kids do you need to win football games?! When you bring in a whole roster full of those kids to a school like University it is NEVER going to sit well with the parents and student body. People who pay money want their kids to see the field eventually. Bring in enough kids to help your team but find a couple spots for the "normal" kids. Bring in a RB, couple WR's, few DB's, a LB, a DL, etc...and fill the rest of the spots with "regular" kids. You should be able to win with that if you're coaching your *** off. At least this way you can win games and keep the rest of the school's population happy.

its like there's farming programs and then a handfull of powerhouses now..

Macho, you feel like this makes it easier for out of state schools to ID talent and scoop them up since they're so consolidated now?

It is like that. LOL. SMH

Good question. I would hope/think that scouts have more wherewithal then to just stick to certain schools when recruiting. I think most do. They're pretty good at finding out where specific kids are, and they'll show up to any school where a D1 kid might be at. When I was at Western there were times when NOBODY showed up cause we didn't have any D1 kids and then there were times when EVERYBODY showed up. (when we had Jonathon Feliciano and Justin Wilson) Then there were also times when only mid-level D1 schools showed up.

These college guys are pretty efficient with their recruiting. When they fly down here they've got their ducks in a row. They usually know where every athlete is at. A lot of times they'll even ask us if we know of any other good prospects in the area.

does being at STA make it more difficult for the bag man to motivate decisions? seeing how they would most likely never let someone like Genron near their program unlike a school like Champagnat..

That, I don't know. I just wish a bagman would visit ol' Macho.
