Clowneys hit was nothing more then a perfect play from a beast but ACC officials (of course) have a problem with it.

They are going to kick Deon Bush out of the game for a hit like this, this season....

So How many games is the refs going to cost us this year when they try and throw out Perryman or Bush for playing good football???

I am very confused on the rule? can someone explain it?

Everyone's confused.... CFL on ESPN said that college football refs are split about how to call plays like the Clowney hit.

Which means that each ref is going to call it differently which all equates to somebodies season is going to be ruined b/c of the new rule. and we all know how terrible ACC football refs are. SMH

The rule is the same but instead of it being a 15 yard penalty the refs will eject the player who made the "questionable" hit.

i think they instituted a rule that replay can be used to overrule the ejection though. kind of like in basketball with flagrants. the penalty is still there, but no ejection if the replay shows it isn't targeting. granted, this still requires a competent ref and those are in short supply in our conference.

What's retarded is that Clowney's hit was perfect, nothing dirty about it, just a perfectly clean hit against a guy smaller than him.

As I stated in the WEZ football will be dead in 15 to 20 years due to all these rules. You can't tip toe around the violence in football and expect to keep the game exciting. Eventually something has to give.

The problem with that is it slows the game down. No one wants to sit through an overly officiated game. And thats what we are heading towards.

I listened to the Don last year as he told a small group of us that the game will be substantially different in under 5 years. He is already anticipating the paradigm shift based on trends at the NFL level and in the courts, and said that any coach worth his salt is already thinking about how to recruit in the new age. He also said that he thinks high school coaches are going to be very slow in acclimating. Consequently, he thinks coaching will become even more important at the college level. He also noted that IQ will become a greater factor in evaluations because the game will become more technical and less physical. People just don't understand that we have a cutting edge coach.

I was listening to a Brando replay this morning and they were saying how the lead ACC official would have ejected Clowney for that hit, but the SEC head official saw no problem with the hit.

Problem?

Lulz at the ACC. Definitely a problem if one conference allows for greater physical play while the other conference will penalize you for said play. In that world advantage goes to the SEC

Pretty soon the NCAA will start forcing kids to go to the NFL because they are too good for college. **** is going to be like Little League.

Ron Cherry can't wait to **** us over multiple times with this call. That dude terrifies me and this ability to call ejections is even scarier
