Close with Williams, Briggs, Campbell, chatfield, and...

The Miller lb and this is the top class...

We need at least one more HS DT preferably 2 and a Juco DT as well if McIntosh and Norton both leave.

I'll settle for 1 LB because of the nature of the 19 class but I would ideally like 2.

I'm fine standing pat at 3 WRs unless the 4th is someone special like Thornton.

I don't see another DB in addition to Campbell unless that DB is Surtain.

I would also really like another DE this class then take 3 in 2019.

Another OL is never a bad idea.

Who is the Miller LB?

We have 19 in the class right now

20. Campbell
21. Sustain
22. Briggs
23. Chatfield
24. Goss or Petit-Frere
25. Williams
26. Trout or Goldwire
27. Bonnito, Lewis, or another LB from somewhere.
28. Thornton or another WR or elite offensive athlete.

That would be a dope recruiting class. Numbers seem good too. Building depth over the next two classes is critical.

Agree. I really want a big class to get us back to 85 after a decade of operating below 80, as well as increase the pressure at the bottom of the depth chart for kids to earn their scholarship. I'd personally take a second LB over a 4th WR, and am not sold on Goldwire (Friday a possibility?). But that's the type of finish I hope we see.

In order to get a class of 28 we need 6 kids to leave early by draft or transfer because we have 22 spots currently available after the Seniors leave.

Then after getting a class of 28, that would only leave 13 spots available for the 2019 class. And out of current Sophomores/Freshman, I can see at most about 6 leaving via transfer, and another 5 leaving early for the draft. That would mean that an absolute max class size of like 23 if we take 28 in the 2018 class.....Perfect class size is 26 for 2018.

I think we finish with:
Jarren Williams, Andrew Chatfield, Dennis Briggs, Nick Bonnito & Lewis, Tyson Campbell, and One more OL/DL.

Who dafug is Lewis?
And lol no 26 is way too little. We might end up with that after grade casualties and decommittals but no way is that the target. 29 is optimal but some dude insisted that we are limited to 28 because of some technical recruiting rule, even if we clear more room under the 85 man cap.

28 should be the target. Which will leave us with a potential 22-23 man class for 2019. Perfect.

Ideally we close with elijah Moore, goss, Briggs, Friday, chatfield, davoan Hawkins, Campbell, Samuel, and a lb or Jarren Williams since QB and LB are the lowest priority needs this year.

The break down for 2019 will be like this: 1 qb, 2 rbs, 5 ol, 2 wr, 5 dl, 4 lb, 4 db.

There's no rule about 28 anything. The rule is You can only bring in a class of 25 initial counters per year up to 85 total counters on the roster at the start of the season. However an Early Enrollee's initial counter can be applied to the previous years class. The problem is we don't know how many initial counters we used in the 2017 class (which was a 25 man class). So potentially we might not be able to apply any of our EE's to the previous class which would mean 25 is the max we can actually take. We just don't know the max.

But we absolutely do NOT want 29 in one class. 25 should be the maximum we take per year. You want to take 20-25 every year. Taking huge 30 man classes when they are unnecessary causes a lot of attrition and it ***** up future classes because you're overloading. That's the problem we're currently in. Its lead us to having only 9 **** seniors currently on the roster. Look at Alabama, the last time they signed over 24 in one class was the 2013 class when they signed 26 recruits. And looking they've singed classes of 26 twice since 2009, every other class has been 24 or 25. My point is we shouldn't oversign this year to try to over correct to reach 85 scholarship players. It'll be okay if we're at 83 next year.

And from your list you can't just eliminate Surtain, Friday, and Moore since those are very slim to no chance at happening. That brings your list down to 26 which is better. But for some reason you have us getting ZERO LBs in this class which is bad. We need 2 Lbs in this class and at absolute minimum one.

SEC put a cap on the number of players that a school can sign at 25 in 2011. That's why Bama doesn't oversign

I don't think we're very far off in our position. You expect 26. But if you can get a couple long shots out of Lewis, Surtain, Trout or Friday to commit, you take them regardless of other offers and space. I am expecting one or two last minute surprise elite guys to come in given our record and momentum.

I made 3 bets with my nole buddy.

So far looking good.

I have two bets with a Bama friend.

Miami wins the ACC before Bama wins another national championship. $250
Miami finishes with a top 3 class on 247. $150.

I hope both come to fruition for me.

If Canes win ACC and Bama wins NC this year.... do you still win? Technically, the ACC CG is before the National Championship.

I think theres a pretty big difference between saying 25 and maybe one extra guy and saying 28 or 29 or whatever.
personally I think we need to stick with only getting 25 per class. If we just get the guys I said and not that extra recruit I'll be very happy with the class.

It really is bad to overload in one class. getting 6 Dbs is not ideal at all. You generally do NOT want to do that. But this is a unique situation since it is so **** loaded this year. But the side effect is it limits how many you can take at the position in the future. It affects how many top 2019 guys you can get, because if youre bringing in 6 or even 7 dbs (and multiple 5* level guys) then how many top 2019 dbs are you realistically gunna get? they see the depth chart and see that you got 7 freshman ahead of them and guys like Bandy, Young, Carter, Smith, ahead of them too. So it makes next years class difficult to recruit. Then it just straight up decreases the amount you can recruit in the following class anyways because you've got so many underclassman.

Love child of Mitch Mustain and Patrick Surtain? Or just that new ED med I see advertised every 4th commercial?

This is the dream class for me:

QB Jarren Williams

RB Lorenzo Lingard
RB Cam'Ron Davis

FB Realus George

WR Trevon Grimes SO (Ohio St.)
WR Mark Pope
WR Brian Hightower
WR Daquris Wiggins

TE Brevin Jordan
TE Will Mallory

OL Nicholas Petit-Frere
OL Delone Scaife
OL Cleveland Reed
OL John Campbell

PK Bubba Baxa

DE Gregory Rousseau
DE Andrew Chatfield

DT Nesta Silvera
DT D.Briggs/Trout/Friday/Barmore/M.Thompson
DT Jared Goldwire R-SO (JC)

LB Bonitto/Sherwood/Joyner/Miller

CB/S Patrick Surtain, Jr.
CB/S Tyson Campbell
CB/S Al Blades, Jr.
CB D.J. Ivey

S/CB Josh Jobe
S Gurvan Hall
S/CB Gilbert Frierson

That's 28 Initial Counters - 2 of which are older players in Grimes and Goldwire. Longshot I know, but there is a chance of this and it would be an absolute monster class that could be worth multiple titles.

Gimme Briggs over the DTs and Bonitto over the other LBs and I agree 100%!!!
If we dont get Surtain then add Joyner
If we dont get Petit-Frere then add another OL

Yes, but I’m sure my friend will say he didn’t agree to that. I brought up that technically we could both accomplish this in the same year but Miami would reach their goal first.
