Class Rankings ... WTH???

Who cares where we are ranked? We are happy with our guys, I wouldn't trade our class with anyone else's and it will only get better.

You wouldn’t trade our class with Georgia’s?
Nope. Miami arguably has the best skill talent class in the nation. A whole offense that was out at the opening is going to Miami. Good oline class for Georgia but scaife is just as good as any of those guys. He showed that at the opening. A bunch of our guys constantly get underrated so it is what it is

Scaife as good as any one of those guys, only problem they got 5 good as he is.
Cade Mays, trey hill and salyer are in a different category then the rest of Georgia oline class. I happen to like 4star Cleveland reed a lot too as a road grader too ranking be damned

The first part I agree with but games are won in the trenches and Georgia’s OL & DL classes are about as elite as you can get.

Our dline class ain’t finished yet and remember our guys produced. Even with star ranking advantages that Bama, Georgia, fsu, clemson, usc, lsu and all of them had we still led the country in sacks and were 2nd in tfls
Take a .500 team out of that, the other three teams you just listed as evidence of something because we had more sacks and TFL finished higher in both total defense and scoring defense. Stop being blinded by flash plays. Our defense was not in the top 10 in either category that actually matters in football.

Additionally, we are outside the top 50 in 3rd down defense and red zone defense. There are a ton of issues with this scheme and its results.

We need to trade sacks and tackles for loss for actual defensive production.

We were 10-2 on the season that had limited depth it is what it is. Remember we are only 2 seasons removed from golden having his hands on this team. Clemson has **** near led the country in tfls from 2013-2016 every year yet we don’t hear them try use that as a counter argument to ininsuate that it’s a bad thing to lead country in tfls. That attributes to negative plays and helps the defense period playing in the backfield. We lost 1 of the games because of malik inaccuraciea where as clemson just outclassed us
Clemson finished 9 in TFL this year, and 3rd in sacks yet were far superior in the other categories. Why would they use it as an excuse, they are elite in the other statistical categories. I didn't say negative plays are bad, but you can't use that as evidence that either players or a scheme are elite on its own. Use your brain broke.

Also, funny how out of one side of your mouth you are calling players/scheme I don't know great because of a stat, then in self confusion refer to the old coach and a different system for why it is only half good.

Oh just how miami is near the top in turnover margin, top 20 in points per game, top 10 or so in pass defense efficiency . Defense needs retooling but it’s not because of us creating negative plays . Playing that soft coverage in the beginning of clemson allowing them move at will against us early on hurt us more than that

No, I wouldn't trade classes.

They have 17 4/5 star recruits. 23 total.
We have 13 4/5 star recruits. 20 total.

We're 3 players behind but can still assess.

Fields and White are 2 of their 6 5-stars.
I'm good with Williams and Lingard.

I'll take their 2 stud O-lineman and call it a day.
Keep the rest.

All signs are pointing to some real good things happening for us in February.

Rankings are self-fulfilling. Good teams are good and recruit good players so their ranking is high because the rankings reflect who is recruiting a kid, not their talent level.

I never said that broke. Your inventing some disagreement that isnt there. What the **** do you keep saying that for. You have missed the point completely. Nevermind, I did this to myself by trying to talk to a ******* ******, again..

Georgia cleaned up yesterday. I'm not surprised by the rankings, but they are a snapshot. We have until tomorrow and then February to add some additional studs to possibly be ranked higher, but ultimately it doesnt matter. We got some good guys signed and others pending. Next year will be fun.

You wouldn’t trade our class with Georgia’s?

Just can't fckn help yourself can you?

I posed a question. One I believe to very legitimate.

If you disagree with it, that's fine.
It’s a ridiculous question. We have most of our guys signed up( so we lost that put@ to Bum-a who cares) but still have the lead with the American Heritage boys and we have a chance to add on some high quality talent and you’re willing to trade them to Georgia? Foh

Youre talking to a dead body, yo.

Personally, I don't care much about the specific rankings beyond bragging rights.

Of course, better recruiting classes are more likely to lead to more success on the field, but there is so much more involved. Cane fans know all too well how lack of player development, lousy schemes, and failure to address positions of need can doom teams to .500 records despite landing classes ranked in the top 20.

I'm just happy with how professional this coaching staff is. And we have already seen the benefits of that on the field this year. Yesterday is just another example. No drama. Addressed almost all of our positions of need, and did so very well.

It's a great feeling, regardless of what # we wind up at on Disney or 247.

For F*UCK sakes. Ya'll don't ruin another thread talkin bout that 40 year old illerate jack ***

Were you calling him this when he committed?

Case and point what Im talkin bout.
He’s no longer going to be a Cane and he Spit on all of us, so we can say what we want about that Bum-a POS... Act like a f@cking Cane **** it! You going to congratulate him like Ericka Marrero? Stfu and mind your own business, that POS is open game.

South Florida kids are often undervalued in the rankings anyway. There's also interesting issues, like Rosendo Louis going from a 4* kid when committed to FSU to flipping to USCe and becoming a 3*.

I was gonna say the opposite which is that our fans are always delusional that the only real talent is in Miami. Yes there is more talent here at certain positions but others not as much. Clemson, Georgia, Alabama, etc do just fine getting only 1-2 guys a year from down here, yet manage to beat the crap out of everyone on the field. We need to find great players anywhere they are.... or we'd miss on guys like Wayne, reed, shocked etc

The formula is like 35 years old at this point.

Get the best pure athletes from the State of Miami, let them grow into positions.

Go OOS for OL and QB (although with spread offenses and running QBs you can now stay in state IMO.

Cherry pick what you need nationally.

The state of Georgia is quickly becoming a 1B to Florida's 1A in talent. Might even surpass a year here and there. Its nice to know we have in-roads with Richt.

Correction 15 of our 20 is 4 stars or higher, good for 75% blue chip rate. This class could end with 21 out of 26 players with 4/5 star players. According to rivals, just realized you use composite, my bad

Makes sense given basic statistics.

SoFla is the country’s 8th most populate metro area.

NW Georgia (Atlanta) is the 9th.

Its a great class but our fans have a tendency of thinking everything that dons the U automatically makes it better.

For example, if Jobe ended up here, you wouldnt hear about the “five guys in dade that are better” or the “kid cant read” or “hes 30” stuff. I mean we didnt hear this at all until it was obvious he was Bama bound.

Its on the cusp of a top 5 class. Its rated pretty accurately.

Well said.

Jobe was a huge loss. My (and Pete’s) favorite prospect.

By the time we are done and had he stayed, Jobe would have been the 4th or 5th highest rated DB in this class, and GH26 would have beaten him out for the safety spot anyhow. He read the writing on the wall, or had someone read it to him. Whichever you prefer.
