Not going to post the full thing because it is paywalled and I don't want to steal **** but definitely interesting. Essentailly, star whores are right AND development > stars guys are right....your odds of hitting on an elite talent is better the higher they are ranked in high school, but there are obvious outliers who have traits that get developed. Nothing new, but worth remembering as we embark on yet another high school recruiting cycle trying to make up for an awful cycle last year. And yes, I know some of us are going to disagree with some of the rankings (Jeanty probably should be higher, Allar lower, etc.)

The top 25 guys upon revisiting:

1. Travis Hunter (Originally ranked #2 overall)
2. Mykell Williams (24)
3. Mason Graham (Unranked - #71 DT)
4. Abdul Carter (Unranked - #36 OLB)
5. Malaki Starks (12)
6. Will Campbell (14)
7. Will Johnson (23)
8. Ashton Jeanty (Unranked - #91 RB)
9. Kelvin Banks (33)
10. Jalon Walker (39)
11. Ni Scourton (Unranked - #97 DE)
12. Omarion Hampton (182)

I always thought this should be the thing that personnel guys should be judged by. It could pretty easily be used to create a metric where you were either positive or negative based on whether your choices over or underperformed. Same for NFL draft. If I was hiring a GM I would ask for these kind of analytics to show me who was really finding value.

One thing that jumps out at me is that almost all of the big jumps from unranked were on RBs and defensive lineman. I think an interesting side analytic would be to see if their were late growth spurts involved in some of those breakout DEs.

Crazy that Abdul Carter was ranked. He seems to have success written all over him. I wonder if he came out hurt or undersized.

Thanks for posting

15 top 50
More hits on their list than I'd suspect
