Nine of Miami’s signees enrolled early, leaving the remaining eighteen to arrive for either the first summer session on May 19th or the second summer session on June 30th. Norcross (Ga.) tight end Chris Herndon may be the only one who still doesn’t have an arrival date nailed down yet.
-Says “For me to get down there on May 19th, I need my principal to sign a sheet of paper,” “I have to get certain grades, which I will, but we’ll see if I get the exemption based on how my finals go. I’ll know more about how it’s looking in a couple weeks.”
- won state titles as a junior and a senior, finished his final campaign with 33 catches for 543 yards and 6 touchdowns. He’s looking to continue building momentum as he heads off to Coral Gables.
-Says “I’m trying to keep my mind right with workouts and training,” “The strength will come so I’ve been working on agility and flexibility. I weighed myself today and I was 238 so I’m pretty comfortable with that. They said I’ll be good if I come in around there and to come in ready for anything.”
-made the trip down recently to catch the spring game, his first time on campus since an official visit in January.
-Says “I spent a lot of time with Ereck Flowers, so we got to talk a lot,” “We hung out in the dorms with a couple other players and it was cool getting to know my future teammates. They said it’s like one big family the coaches are there to help the players. Some guys take a little bit to get used to things but once that happens, it just flows.”
-mentioned a couple other signees he has spoken with and how excited he is for the entire group to make their mark.
-Says “Well I was asking Braxton Berrios when he was going to be fully healthy and get back on the field,” “I talked to Brad Kaaya a lot during our official and we were really excited about our 2014 recruiting class. We have a lot of potential and most of us will get early playing time as freshmen. Sophomore year could be big for a lot of people.”
-was never a huge fan of the recruiting process and he didn’t have much trouble picking Miami over offers from Mississippi State and Western Kentucky.
-Says “Recruiting was over once I signed and that’s the way I wanted it,” “Coaches knew where I was going and that made it a lot easier. I never liked getting attention in that way.”
