Chick and Porter hitting the same gap

I saw it at least twice where they both collided in the same gap. Chick seemed like he stunted in and was expecting Porter to be somewhere else. On both I saw UVA picked up big gains.
These are the types of plays that are killing us.

On Sims TD run, Big Earl decides to leave is outside contain to go chase Sims across the field when if he had stayed put he would have tackled Sims for a loss.

I know its popular to blame D'onofrio, but the players deserve as much blame.

Big Earl was recruited by Golden, so ultimately you have to blame the coach. Nothing against Big Earl or any other player but Golden is the GM here.

He's ultimately responsible for the success and failure of this team. That's why he gets paid the big bucks! 6-6 gets you a multimillion extension!!

I agree, but players like E.Moore will get better especially when they continue to gain experience. This year was probably the hardest year for me besides 97 and 98. We have to make major strides next year though. Almost everyone of the starters and back-ups will be back. I don't expect a lot of the 2013 recruits to play. Maybe 5 at most so this will really be a better team.

Golden should be fired because Dorsett dropped 2 TDs against Notre Dame. I mean, he is the Head Coach and all. Don't forget Wieclaw's missed FGs. Golden's fault too.

I'm not saying Golden should be fired. But, he is still ultimately responsible for this team. If the team does good, he'll get praised. However, when the team loses like they did yesterday he and his staff have to be held accountable.

It's not that simple. Does Coker deserve credit for the 2001 national title? I mean, he was the coach and all.

Under normal circumstances Big Earl would have been redshirted.
But since Golden's inherited little depth he's forced to play these kids that are not ready early.

Awful gameday management by Golden on the last drive by failing to use a timeout. The line was gassed and just stood up on a few plays.

And if he uses a TO, I guarantee, would actually bet my life, posters on here would complain, "Horrible timeout by Golden, bailing UVA out, not forcing them to use their own TOs or hurry up or spike it."

Not at all. I was surrounded by Miami fans begging and screaming for a TO. The d line was done.

I understand that, I was watching, but if you don't think people on here wouldn't have ripped him, you haven't been paying attention to what goes on around here.

I'm thinking the problem was Chick, but I recall exactly what you are talking about. I say it's Chick because he stunted inside 2 or 3 times on outside runs while he was playing end. I'm not sure if these are coaching calls or him running the wrong stunts, but one of them ****ed up bad yesterday.

I constantly see Chick 3,4,5 times a game jus stunting and getting pushed down or whichever way hes stunting into what turns into a huge hole

If anything, that falls on the DLine coach.

I routinely believe this cat is the weakest link on the coaching staff. (Don't worry Carroll's Kid gets honorable mention) With the way we are dropping back in coverage, we have to be generating pass rush. If we don't, well you see the results we get on Saturdays.

Our guys look lost in trying to match up at the point of attack. None look like they have any sort of moves. Only seem to look comfortable shooting a gap. And that is even a joke. In the end it is likely talent and coaching kicking us in the ***.

This is generally what you get when you have an undersized and very young DL. The DL is not a position you want underclassmen playing. Earl and Chick are both underclassmen and have a long way to go in learning the system and improving their technique. Not sure who was responsible on the ***** ups between Porter and Chick, but Porter has also barely played in over a year. So its not like he's really very experienced in this system either. For all practical purposes, Porter is as raw as Chick is in the current system.

I often have to remind myself that Brennan Carroll is still on UM's payroll.
