DE...has played some in space this year...can likely drop back in flats like Diaz likes. A nice edge rusher..with Kul coaching up will be more than servicable. Just got another Toolbox and ill take that all day.

Good deal. Nice too see a kid stick to it and earn the scholarship he wanted.
Handled the process very well. It's easy to cheer for a kid like that.
 
Ok so now people learn that sometimes guys on here know wtf they talking bout, cuz i know some dudes be like if kul dont want him i dont want him BS. Now kul wants him so those guys like gogeta liberty brock (hate to admit brock lol) and others who i dont remember knew more about a prospect then the staff, so it doesn happen time to time. Listen to these guys (not brock) gogeta Liberty and other know wtf they talking about

Props to those guys for being on this kid early. I would assume the staff had a reason other than ignorance for not offering sooner. No offense to anyone, but if dudes on here are outperforming the staff on evaluations, something is very, very wrong.

I think those fans who think this is just about the coaches recognizing they made a mistake are wrong. This is a numbers decision. We need bodies at de, so a borderline kid will get the benefit of the doubt.

This offer tells me that the Patchan to TE move is more permanent than it might seem. Without Patchan, we are only throwing out Jackson, Jackson, Garvin, and Johnson at DE. We need to find at least 3 more for depth. Rousseau is one. Chat field will be the second. The third will either be another recruit or a kid like tyreic moving back down to DE - the knock on him has always been his strength in the middle, so a move outside could benefit him. Plus he's only 10 pounds heavier than chad Thomas.

Kul has shown a strong willingness to Change up his personnel to meet his needs.

Patchan will go back to DE with the 2 TE studs we're bringing in. Patchan just has 0 ball skills/receiver instincts. I think the staff just wants to lock down the State of the U again. You just do NOT let guys like Chatman or Bonitto go without a fight.

Why the nasty insults? Jesus. I never once crapped on chat field. Kid was and always has been a borderline prospect. I'm not upset at all about that, I think we'll need him to be a serviceable rotation guy even as early as next year if we get hit with injuries.

But the timing of all this is suspect. Patchan gets moved midseason and actually plays real minutes against Unc. Recently several DEs have been offered including Chatfield. I'm not a brain surgeon but logic tells us that perhaps there could be a connection here.

I looks to me like a kid they wanted to see senior film on.

I believe it was all a matter of Coach Kool not seeing enough of him in live game situations. Coach was all about the '17 class when he first arrived. The prototypical '18 kids got the first look(why guys like Oladele were getting early love) but I knew Kool would see too much of guys like Toolbox, Shane Ray, etc. to let him walk...
 
Happy for him. He earned it.

Equally important is this staff trusts their evaluations, but won't die by them in the face of facts.
