All NOLA officials have done is talk about security for the Super Bowl....guess they forgot about the SUGAR Bowl. They now can't go forward with the game tonight as they have to go over the Super Dome and all access points with a fine tooth comb.

It’s ridiculous and embarrassing.

Same thing with not having the barriers up to block traffic from getting onto Bourbon Street.

When you have idiots in charge of public safety, bad things are going to happen.

Sometimes you can be as prepared as you can ever be but it's tough to prepare for every level of stupidity... You can never truly know what level some people are willing to stoop to ....
Believe me I'm not making excuses for anything at all .... It's just real hard to know how and when something like this will happen...

Agreed. Can’t prevent everything but you can prepare for a lot of it.

However, when you are a LEO in charge of security, you must imagine everything that could be possible.

Street barriers, that where already there to prevent this, especially with what happened in Germany a few weeks ago - that just a simple slam dunk security.

Drivers into large crowds of people is not something new. It’s happened in France, Germany, US, etc!!!
 
Easy for us to sit in our easy chair and cast aspersions. I am sure those folks planning security, public servants and private firms are doing their best. Securing soft targets is very difficult. We plan and prep but fools like this will find ways through. Just keep people in your thoughts and prayers. All this stinks.

You're 100% correct.... When it's your job to prepare for stuff you have to take variable into account....
 
They 100% made the right call pushing this. There is a lot of information that hasn’t realized to the public yet. Let’s just leave it at that…..

Double and triple check and secure everything.

The system has been blinking red for a long time on ISIS attacks from inside the US.
