So Cedrick Wright and Dionte Mullins are the two remaining prospects from the 2016 class who are not officially enrolled yet. I spoke to Cedrick a little while ago and another source at UM who told me that he should be in this week. The holdup with him is that he took a course at Homestead the summer of his freshman year, and UM is waiting for those credits to get in. Miami is hopeful that it should be cleared up before this Friday so that Wright can enroll this week for the second summer session.

As I mentioned last week, Miami is still waiting for Mullins' test scores and those should arrive in about two weeks -- give or take. He most likely will not be able to enroll until August, I'm told. The staff remains hopeful on him as well

Good news on Wright. Fingers crossed for Mullins, we need that kid.

Pete have you heard any good things about Romeo Finley.

Pete- any particular reason it's taking so long for test results? Think somebody (possibly you) said his HS already had the results.

For the life of me I can not understand how in this day and age of electronic transcripts, WHY is Miami's admissions department so F-ing inept. The university of Florida literally pulled and evaluated Powells high school transcripts in a few hours an he had attended 3 different schools mind you.

Year in and year out Miami has some type of admission issue with kids and south Florida schools, where as by now it should be a hand in glove operation.

There should be a dedicated admissions staffer and assistant along with two work study clerks just for revenue sports recruiting admission at Miami.

Go Canes

PS: Thanks for the update Pete.

This whole clearinghouse system and the apparent room for subjective rulings by NCAA bureaucrats seems ripe for a major lawsuit. I'm not one to ever play the "modern day slavery" insanity card when it comes to college athletes but this whole process seems like an instance in which the NCAA can play favorites with certain schools or conferences and the individual athlete, very often from limited economic backgrounds, wouldn't ever have the means to challenge a ruling via his own legal action.

Very good point. Hopefully Richt can get that addressed as well. That makes no sense.

The Powell issue wasn't admissions related. It was more of the old staff waiting to see what Dalvin Cook was going to do so they slow played Powell and wouldn't let him enroll.

You guys can't really believe UM admissions is so much slower or more inept than other colleges. There are obviously other issues at play

If UM's admissions officer handling Cedrick Wrights transcripts is competent then once they did the initial evaluation for his committable scholarship offer or sometime after Wright signed his NLI they should noticed he would need transcripts from other high schools an then requested those official transcripts months ago. They the only thing that UM should have been waiting for are final grades from his current school.
