2015 FB/MLB Cecil Cherry (6’1, 224, 4.75/40) of Frostproof High in Florida recorded 116 tackles, two forced fumbles, and two interceptions last season. The sensational sophomore has received a flurry of offers from big time programs recently. “Miami, Florida St., Florida, USF, UCF, Clemson, South Carolina, Tennessee, Louisville, Arizona St., UMass, and Appalachain St. have offered.”

The highly sought after linebacker visited Coral Gables last weekend. “The visit went really well. Head Coach Al Golden wanted me to commit. I told him I was really interested, that I can see myself at Miami, but that I wanted to think about it. The academics are good and I love the atmosphere. Ray Lewis’s son will be there and I was told last weekend that Ray Lewis will be around the program a lot.”

Cherry told Varsity Preps his impression of Miami’s head coach. “I love Coach Golden. He’s the type of coach I can see myself playing for. He made me feel comfortable, we took pictures, and he’s all about business. I like that.”

I love what i see with this kid but i dont want him to commit till at least his junior year of football is over because it will be a process and i swear everybody would go crazy if he commits early but kill him if he looks around so id rather wait a loooooooooooong time

Like hearing ray Lewis being a recruiting tool- like even more that recruits are receiving that information well.

And to think there were actually folks who didn't believe RLIII was worthy of a scholarship... Dude is gonna be a recruiting rabbit's foot during his time at the :neonu:

It'll be so critical for us to use advantages like this to keep up with the deep pockets of the $EC and all their recruiting "consultants."

Ray Lewis III will pull his own freight ON the field.

The rest is gravy.

Agree with this, he's underrated and if he has a work ethic anywhere near his father's **** we got a steal.

Plus, he's like 190lbs, has 4.4-4.5 speed and from his tape looks to be a football player, albeit against really weak competition.
I think he is going to surprise people with his talent and by his RS Junior season be a regular positive contributor.
