CBS Sports Miami Analysis - Great Video

Shocked to hear Tim Brando actually take our side in something. Pretty sure he is a VT homer

When SEC homers like Tim Brando are taking the UM side, you know that public sentiment towards the Canes' situation has turned in our favor. I about drove off the road yesterday afternoon when the DC sports radio guys were echoing these thougths and feeling sorry for Golden and UM. Normally, they pursue the tried and true "Miami is just a bunch of thugs and criminals" approach, but even they feel bad for us.

NCAA is really stepping softly and trying to get people to forget about that **** job they have given Miami. Its gonna be a while before we see anything from them on penalties. They try to hammer us now the back lash would be huge. They want to hammer us but need a quiet period so they can get a lil momentum back. Miami needs to push hard right now. Keep this **** on the radar.

Which DC sports radio guys are you referring to? You must be referring to Tony Kornheiser or someone of his ilk. Give Rick "Doc" Walker a try at 2 pm on 980 AM; he typically has a much more informed take on our Canes.

I like Doc Walker as well -- he was fun to listen to as an ACC tv analyst. No, I was referring to Steve Czaban and Al Galdi, who despite knowing nothing about college ball, were talking about Manziel yesterday. Usually you can expect the the typical knee-jerk reaction regarding Miami, but yesterday even they were sympathetic to our plight.

Gregg Doyel at CBS Sports and Author of Manziel this piece says U gets "time served"

@GreggDoyelCBS What about Miami?! NCAA blinks with Manziel but let's the U twist in the wind. What's your opine on what and when with Miami? - 29 Aug

Gregg Doyel @GreggDoyelCBS ...I think Miami's gonna get away with time served, and I think that would be just fine.

If the NCAA would just start out by emphasizing exactly how Miami cooperated and the level of self-imposed sanctions they've taken, there's nothing wrong with them saying time served. Two bowls and the ACCCG game is a lot to give up for a lot of unsubstantiated charges. Miami took the sanctions probably because even they didn't know what to believe, but it turns out they probably overpenalized.
