DJ Daniel a 4* JUCO CB from Georgia Military College is on campus and visiting today. I know the staff has been in contact with him and has been trying to get him to visit. He's currently committed to South Carolina.

From my understanding he's solid in his commitment to South Carolina. Many thought Georgia was primed to land Daniel for a long time however South Carolina's Travaris Robinson made a huge impression on him and made it clear that he thinks South Carolina is the best place for him to get to the NFL.

If our defensive staff can convince him that he will start immediately and be an impact player, I believe DJ is going to absolutely give us a fair shot.

How is he going to start immediately at UM?? He will have a chance but the competition is going to be much harder next year for that 2nd starting cb spot
 
Daniel & Ivey on the outside, Bandy at the nickel. Blades and Carter at safety.

I know he flirted alot with Richt in HS I mean I even instantly remember his name ans being from GA so maybe Richts more comfortable with him

So Frierson is just sitting next year? He'll lock down a CB or Safety spot. Hall will be playing Safety. Blades will be corner. Daniel would be good depth, but no guarantee that he'd be starting here.
 
Hopefully they get a good vibe on his interest and if it's not legitimate then its time to make a run at DCW. We could use 1 JUCO CB to come in and start right away. No real need for 2. DCW is proven at the d1 level and could start for us opposite of Bandy and would be a good competition for Ivey/Blades/Frierson
 
who ever comes in at corner, especially with JUCO experience, has a good chance to start. Stop giving so hype to freshmen that havent done much. This isnt high school as soon as they get here whatever they did then starts from 0

So interesting - pretty sure UGA still recruiting him.

There was a lot of smoke when he made the commitment - seemed like most UGA people were expecting him to commit to them and then he went to SC. Speculation he was asked to wait to make a public commitment by Kirby (they had others higher on the board - Cine, Stevenson, etc) and he didn't want to wait (probably thought he would get screwed!) and that's another reason he went to South Carolina. All guesses but it was a pretty weird situation. It happened right around the beginning of the fall camp season, if I remember correctly.

I think he visited UGA for a game already this season or maybe is going tomorrow.
