Carol City defeats Punta Gorda to advance to 6A state title game | Miami Herald

Carol City followed up their dominant performance last week vs Mainland with an equally dominant game in the State Semi's vs Punta Gorda Charlotte.

2018 QB Marlon Smith had a another great game, along with 2018 RB Camron Davis who had 157yds & 3TD's off just 9carries last week, he had 4TD's tonight.

CC being the last of two Dade teams left in the playoffs, will face off against Lake Gibson in Orlando for the State title.

Carol City produced some good players back in the day. Good to see them back

Thanks for the update!
Naytron Culpepper had a 50yd PR for a TD & Terrence Horne had a great game too...

Nayquan Wright was dressed, but I don't think he played that much & that entire CC Defense played great & dominated as well...

This is why you don't ***** around with Dingle's commit. He's a local kid 100% committed to the Canes. Need to respect that.

Should hold on to Da Dingles and make a move on Naytron. Next year bring in Russell and Cam.

Didn't someone close to the program on here tell us about a DLineman they have too?

i don't like Aubrey Hill being the head coach there. he's still a gayturd to me.

i called this maybe two years back.

When carol city got all those kids from that optomist team. Whats scary is...James Cook should be on this team..they legit should have Naquan Wright, Camron Davis, and Cook on the same team. Thats 3 high level div 1 rbs. They are loaded with young talent.

2018 kid Terance Horne # 19 catching the long TD pass has come over from Miramar and he is being taught and used at CC...Kid is 5-10/170 but has tremendous speed--official 10.58--100m and 21.58--200m both well under national elite HS standards of 10.80 and 22.00.

Also freshman 2020 Safety Willie Floyd is a guy to watch. When he was in the 9-10 year old age group at the AAU nationals for his age group he finished 5th in the 100m. He is already listed at a solid 5-10 and 180. With Russell and the other DBs he has not yet gotten a lot of playing time.

Willie Floyd - Hudl

Does Lil Polumalu still run 100m? I've seen him long jump and run 400m, but haven't seen him compete at 100m in a few years.

I live up in Navarre which is where LG played the semi final game. Was a close defensive game until early 3rd Q when Navarre's QB broke his collarbone. Raiders had to go with a jv qb after that & lost 35-14. LG is all about defense & it's good. their O is a read option system. CC really shouldn't have to much trouble with them. Key would be a early score or two for CC. LG seems to get impatient on O if it's close. Can't see the title game being closer than a 21 pt win for the Chiefs.

Edit: btw Navarre has a soph WR who had a KO return for a TD. Kids name is Dante Wright. Keep a eye on him as he's gonna be a good one!
