RB (1)

Alex Collins: Eddie Gran's departure from FSU put a dent in their chances, but they are still in the game. The team that has made a jump is UF. Collins will be visiting Miami on January 18th and Arkansas on the 25th.

WR (1)
In a move that had been in the works for over a month, longtime Miami commitment Angelo Jean-Louis committed to Marshall on Tuesday. The Miami staff hadn’t expected AJL to qualify, but it’s just unfortunate that he couldn’t handle his business in Prep school because he is supremely talented.

Stacy Coley: I heard very good things about Coley's trip to Miami in early December and that he was very close to committing. Florida State is still very much near the top and the 'Noles will get a visit from him on January 11th.

Jaelen Strong: Sandland's JUCO teammate recently committed to Arizona State, but he is still planning a visit to Miami in January. Strong is a very talented option.
12/31: 20%

Levonte Whitfield: The former Miami commit and current 'Noles pledge told me last week that he would be visiting Miami on January 18th. Also told me that Miami coaches had been to his school twice in the last month to see him.

Jordan Cunningham: Possible back-up plan as of right now.

TE (3)
Sandland looks more possible.

Standish Dobard (commit): Visiting on January 18th. (100%)

Jeremy Kerr (commit): Despite FSU talk, his commitment to Miami seems firm. (85%)

Beau Sandland (commit) : In what could be the steal of the class, Miami was able to go across-the-country to sign the top JUCO TE in the class. Sandland has signed with Miami already and will arrive in January.

12/3: 35%
12/18: 65%
12/31: 100%

OL (3-4)
OL class is coming together very nicely.

Alex Gall (commit): Extremely strong commitment. Will visit on January 18th and is recruiting for the 'Canes. (100%)

Denver Kirkland: The percentage going down doesn't really mean anything catastrophic, but something that is lingering with Kirkland is a possible grades issue. He will visit USF on January 11th, Miami on the 18th, and TCU on February 1st.
7/25: 55%

Sonny Odogwu (commit): As expected, Odogwu committed to Miami on Friday after visiting two weeks ago. He was a personal favorite of Coach Kehoe and will enroll in January.
12/18: 60%
12/31: 100%

DT (1-2)

Keith Bryant: After feeling confident on Bryant about two weeks ago when he told me he was only ".1% unsure about Miami," I'm back to not feeling so good about him. Bryant told a source of mine last week that he was leaning towards Florida State. As of right now, he has no visit set to Miami, while he is set to visit Tallahassee on the 11th.

DE (1-2)

Tim Williams: The longer this wears out, the worse the chances become for Miami. Scheduled to visit on the 18th, but I wouldn't be surprised if that doesn't happen.

11/20: 60%
12/3: 50%
12/18: 45%
12/31: 35%

Al-Quadin Muhammad: This is shaping up to be the Tyriq McCord of last year's class. Miami has made a heavy push for Muhammad ever since his visit in early December. There seems to be some sort of holdup with his grades and Notre Dame, and Miami could turn out to be the beneficiary of that. He is done with his visits and will announce this upcoming Saturday at the Army All-American game. He has not visited Notre Dame.

LB (2-3)

Alex Figueroa (commit):
12/3: 100%
12/18: 100%

Matthew Thomas: There really isn't much new with Thomas. FSU continues to be Miami's biggest competition and he will visit there in January. As of right now he isn't planned to visit Miami, but says he might take a mid-week trip. I still expect him to visit on January 18th with Denver Kirkland instead of taking a planned USC trip.

12/3: 70%
12/18: 100%
12/31: 100%

Michael Parker: I don't believe that Miami would take a commitment from him

CB (0-1)
Staff making a big play at Rashard Robinson.

Rashard Robinson: The funny thing on Robinson is that people from the Miami side feel confident, while LSU coaches aren't worried about his commitment. He will make a signing day decision.
12/18: 30%
12/31: 25%

S (2)
Burns can play either DB spot.

Artie Burns (commit): FSU and LSU continue to recruit him, but is solid with Miami.

The DT recruiting is setting up to be a complete disaster. Not good at all. A guy like Bryant was supposed to step in for a guy like Porter (if he even stays) in 2014.

Baby Jesus shines so bright on the front page

BTW, you think we could get Donta Wilkins on the big board. I mean he has to be considered a viable option now doesn't he?

Not sure how Pete's source could know where Bryant's leaning, considering he's probably trolling his own mother about his decision.

Keith told my source that he was leaning to FSU

Real nervous about this class

I am off base that its going to be hard to love this class unless we land Collins, Kirkland, Bostwick, and Thomas at a minimum

If we don't get AQM (nice surprise), Bryant (necessary due to position) Collins (necessary due to talent + position), Kirkland and Thomas (yikes), and Coley (more on the nice surprise side), it'll look really bad.

While I understand where you're coming from, the lack of names out there makes me think the staff is pretty confident on those two. There is one other name, a JUCO named Marcus Hardison but not really sure where we stand with him.

People forget that we have a bunch of DTs already in the school and enrolled...at some point we have to develop them.

2013 DT Depth Chart

Porter (Rd-Sr)
Robinson (Rd-Sr)
Grimble (Jr)
Pierre (Jr)
King (Rd-So)
Moore (So)
Ivery (So)
Briscoe (Rd-Fr)

Trust me I want two beasts DT (Bostwick and Bryant) in this class and every class, the line is the most important position. I just think we need to realize that it's not like the WR situation we had circa 2006/7 when we signed Sam Shields and George Robinson.

*Please note that Hunter Knighton could be a DT*

You missed Pierre.

So, in 2014, we have Pierre, Grimble, King, Moore, Ivery, Briscoe.

Essentially, you're praying that Moore or Ivery make a very big leap or someone like Jelani Hamilton becomes a Pierre-like contributor. Color me ******* concerned about that group.

This class needed at least one stud DT who could step in as an impact guy in 2014. A fat and unfocused Bryant wouldn't do that anyway, but a focused and junior-highlights version of Bryant would likely be that guy.

Added in Pierre.

Okay so you are concerned with the talent of these players, it is not the numbers thing but the talent thing. I think that is fair. I just don't think the key to success for the 2014 DT group is a 2013 DT (unless JUCO). A second year DT being a high impact guy (while possible) is very hard to find. You can recruit studs at the position but it doesn't guarantee success. I think one of these 2012 kids will make a decent leap this year and make you feel better about 2014.

My concern at the DT position isn't a player but the DL Coach.

Hopefully the number we take is around 20.

If Miami keeps those 12 commitments and closes with those players, this board would be ecstatic.
