Really excited about this kid. @DMoney and I got to watch about an hour of practice and I believe he will be a contributor right away, He's built like an upperclassmen, provides defensive versatility, and looks like he continues to develop as an outside shooter. Really nice piece for the roster moving forward.

It’s hilarious to see the 5 stars we’ve landed. Also even funnier to see these sites rating these kids 5 stars:

Bathea has zero juice. Defenders stick to him like flies on ****. Think he has potential long term but I view him as a 3 year development project

I don't think you can compare the two. Bethea was far more decorated coming out of high school and further along development-wise. The issue is that every 5 star prospect is expected to be a one-and-done talent and that just isn't the case with him.

I would like to keep the 3 freshmen guards, especially Divine. Not losing an ounce of sleep over anyone else.

A bit surprised (but not shocked) these announcements are happening mid season, though. We could have a really thin roster and be forced to play walk on’s if we have a couple more in season departures. Not that it matters much, this season is already a complete train wreck.

The rest of this season is moot. The job is attractive regardless and the roster next year will be portal guys anyways
